Google Chrome question

I just upgraded to Windows 7 from XP. Before tonight, when I clicked on the little Google chrome icon down at the bottom, it would show up with four categories -- I think it was search and my GMail, a couple other things. Somehow I've managed to lose that front page. Does anyone know how I can get it back?

Stupid question, I know, but I like things to stay the same.

When you say "front page", I assume you mean Home or startup page steve2470 Aug 2012 #1
The other thought I had is, you mean the icon on your taskbar at the bottom of your screen steve2470 Aug 2012 #2

Here's how to get it back:

1- Fire up Chrome and go to your favorite startup page, i.e. Gmail

2- Click the small wrench icon on the upper right hand corner of your browser

3- Click Settings from the drop-down menu

4- On the Settings page you should see, go down to the "On Startup" section

5- Click the radio button that says "Open a specific page or set of pages"

6- Click the blue text that says "Set pages"

7- On the popup window that says "Startup pages", click the button that says "Use current pages"

8- Click the OK button.

9- If you've done everything correctly, the page that was your favorite startup page should now be your "official startup page" within Google Chrome.

To pin the Google Chrome icon to the taskbar, fire up Chrome. Then, right click that icon which is on your Taskbar right now. Click "Pin this program to taskbar".

Hope I was helpful.

I should be able to figure that out. I think my grandson (13) may have been playing around in there yesterday afternoon and changed my "look.". Easy for him to do ... He knows about 10 times more than I do about how these things work.

We got iPads (no previous Mac experience) and windows 7 upgrades on our pc desktops within a few days of each other so all this "learning" stuff is taxing our old brains.
