So, how did I accidentally trigger my webcam?

Every now and then I have trouble connecting to the net. It's my wireless that's set on a random setting. Whenever it hits a certain channel it seems to struggle with someone else in the neighborhood who is on the same frequency. I have the Inssider program, so I know who it is. I just keep trying to get back on, hoping that the random selector resets itself. But today something weird happened. First, my laptop asked for the password to get on the net. It's never done that before.

Just to be safe, I went to check all my file sharing and remote settings. My laptop was set on Home (Windows 7) and I put it on Public. Next, I noticed that the light next to the webcam was on. I have tape across the llens to obstruct the view, just in case someone comes in through a backdoor.

I shut down a window and behind it, I found another window which asked if I wanted to adjust the focus.

I've done the usual anti-virus purge, and will probably change my password, but I'm pretty sure that I must have triggered the cam, without really knowing how I did it. Anyone know what the process is for an ASUS with Windows 7.
