Cat walked across my keyboard and now the white on my computer screen is an eerie, ghostly, pale
teal color. No white at all. Anyone know how I go back to white? Actually it is my one big monitor that has the teal background. My laptop is fine.

linking to the computer is lose.

Yeah, that'll make it go into a lower power mode, where the lighting behind the screen is dimmed and less white.

The standard 15 pin vga connector can easily loosen where some of the contacts but not all loose their connection. This will cause the colors displayed to be different than usual.
