How do I find out what my passcode is for my friend to use my wifi on CISCO?

All I can find is an internet security key. She is staying here from Sunday on to watch my dogs and I have to leave her the passcode. Century Link has been no help so far. They keep saying to log off and when I log on it will ask me for my passcode but it always just logs me back on.

It that all she needs?

Thanks!

From that I can get a manual and find the relevant interfaces.

Going on averages you'd need to take a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1 or maybe http://192.168.0.1 and sign in. Look for wireless and under that security.

Open Control Panel.
Select Network and Sharing Center.
ON the left, Manage wireless networks.
Find your network in the list and Right-Click it.
Properties...
Write down the SSID.
navigate to the Security tab.
Select the Show characters, checkbox.
Write down the Security Type, Encryption Type and Network Security Key.

That is all you need to connect to the WiFi network.

Windows will not show you that. You set that up on the wifi router when you install it. Generally there is a web interface for administration of the router, as noted up thread. You also have to have tha password to get into the web interface, and the default for that is in the documentation for the device.

and use the Internet through a WiFi Access Point. This is an Access Key.
What you are referring to is the Administrative Password, used to configure the router and access point.

This is not needed to have a "guest" gain access to the Internet via your broadband connection...which is how I read the OPs question.

It might be called something slightly different.

Also, most modern routers have a button you can press while the computer's trying to find it that will link things up without entering the password. That feature's called WPS:

windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/set-up-a-wireless-router

to all of you. I was able to go to the security and hit, "show characters" and find the numbers.

that is logging in administratively with an ethernet cord(not wifi) using ip 192.168.1.1

the WIRELESS password should be under the wireless/wireless_security tab

either wpa/tkip or wpa2/aes are most common types of security
