Tumblr: How come I've never been able to access this site?
It's my understanding Tumblr is a pretty popular website, but I've never been able to access the main page or any links that people post of Facebook, etc.
Is there something obvious I'm missing? If I go to www.tumblr.com or any other links, Tumblr just displays: "We couldn't find the page you were looking for."
At first I thought Tumblr was down, but it's been happening now for years. I've never been able to check out Tumblr.
I thought maybe if I create an account those pages would let me in. The create and account page worked, but it still doesn't let me into other pages. Including the verify your email page. Tumblr still gives that error page.
I must be going crazy.

(5,023 posts)Thanks. Does the page work for you?
Is there a hipster secret in accessing this site, that I'm not cool enough to understand?

(5,023 posts)A Tumblr page says "Not Found" (not a browser error)
I tried 3 different browsers and same thing. I'm going to try it on a different computer....

(5,023 posts)I'm work in I.T. and configure the firewall myself and have never blocked this site. This is wierd. I'm not really concerned , just very curious.
I tried on a coworkers PC and same thing. Tumble says not found.
Here is a screenshot I found on a non-english site. I'll try a translator on it:

(8,543 posts)Although when I try a non-secure link, it gets redirected to the secure link. Perhaps your browser is not allowing pages to redirect?

(5,023 posts)But https doesn't fix it for other pages. Like https://www.tumblr.com/tagged/gaming still gives me that page.
(Actually I wrote https in the link above but this site changed it to just http.)
It's also strange because I had the same problem on my previous computer. Maybe it does just happen in this network. I'll try again when I get home.
