Can you tell me what has happened?

I created a Word document, font sat at 12.
When I printed the document, the print is so tiny, I can hardly read it.

This same thing happened weeks ago with e-mail.
I have not had occasion to use Word for some time until today.
Can hardly read the results.

Any ideas how to correct this? Did a search but came up with nothing.
Thanks

it sounds like a printer setting. Check the page Page Layout section of your printer settings and make sure it is set to normal and not scaled.

That's the best I got.

4. Some printers have a setting that allow you to scale the output........

you might go into your printer properties and see if you can find something like "nn% of Normal Size" where it's not set to 100%.

What kind of printer do you have?

Checked Properties, seemed normal.
Is there some way to update drivers? Could this be a problem?
I'm scared to do much of anything because I don't know what I am doing.

I am of an age when a 4 function calculator was the best thing ever.

I think this is a computer problem. Since I had the small print for e-mail a few weeks ago and was kindly helped by DU'ers. The same problem may have been going on with MS Word but I have not used it in ages.

Properties indicate Normal size.

8. I don't think the drivers are the source of the problem.

Have you tried printing a test page on it?

One possibility would be to open a document, press <Ctrl-P> (don't use the quick print icon), and check the dialog box Zoom (lower right)--if it's set at anything other than "1 page", set to "1 page" and see if it works normally.

My suggestion would be to try to do a manual uninstall of the printer (See this link for more info: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02259020&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3177566&tmp_track_link=ot_search#N195 )

Then reinstall it from the printer CD.

If that doesn't work, you might try HP's support site and see if it can help you. Good luck--let us know what happens!

I think I must have forgotten to bookmark the page and now it is in never-never land.
Before uninstalling the printer for a new install, I will wait a day for any more comments.
This is so frustrating.. You are all great!!!

13. Yes, it was sort of a sub-problem at the time. Now it is important.

Don't know whether it is the computer or printer.
Have not yet done a uninstall/reinstall but plan to do so if no other option comes up.
Just call me 'confused'.
