TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) The departure of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords from office this week will leave both Democrats and Republicans seeking the best candidate to finish her term.
"Her constituents love her, the services offered by her and her staff have been extraordinary, so she will be greatly missed," said Jeff Rogers, chair of the Pima County Democratic Party.
-------
"My major concern is getting the message out to the votersmaking sure they understand all the complexities of the law," said F. Ann Rodriguez, Pima County Recorder.
Once Giffords gives her resignation to Governor Jan Brewer, the governor will have 72 hours to announce the special primary and general elections. The primary will likely have to occur in April and the general will likely be sometime in June.
