Published: February 10, 2012
SAN DIEGO House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi predicted Friday that California and four other large states will bring Democrats within striking distance of gaining control of the chamber this year.
Pelosi said she expected California, Florida, Illinois, New York and Texas to leave the party only about a half-dozen seats short. She declined to predict how many seats she anticipated picking up, saying only that she would happy with the 25 needed to take control from Republicans.
President Barack Obama won't campaign in four of the five target states because they are not presidential battlegrounds, Pelosi said. Florida is the exception.
"We're within range just naming those five states just a handful, a half-dozen more to go so we feel very good about the numbers," Pelosi said at a news conference on the opening day of the California Democratic Convention.

(53,661 posts)Strange to hear good news. MSM is all bagger and RW wingnuts. I'm seeing an awful lot of losses in RL from the wingnuts, right now just holding onto an anti-wingnut Senate seems too much to hope for when the state-by-state actions are so heinous, and the election fraud by the GOP so rampant.
But Pelosi is no dummy. If she says so, I'll give the idea credit. As far as Obama campaigning in those states, I'm thinking he should NOT. But only because they really are local concerns.

(579 posts)it shouldn't be too hard to get the House back, retain the Senate and have a landslide victory for Obama. I'm glad Republicans can't see it, they keep elevating the dumber ones to the top.
