Before primary challenging Sinema-D in 2024, we should first re-elect Kelly-D and win the AZ Gov. nkpolitics1212 Feb 2021 #6

She's the first Democrat to win a senate seat in Az since the bronze age. Arizona is still a very conservative place. Why primary a Democrat who can win in a red state?

They have two D senators, Biden won, and the Gov is a D. It's not very conservative at all anymore and it's other Senator doesn't seem to think supporting the minimum wage is a problem for re-election.

Primary Manchin? No. Primary Sinema? Got no problem with it.

The state legislature is dominated by conservative republicans. AZ is still quite conservative.

considering they have three federal Dems holding office right now.

I mistyped NV for GOV but just two cycles ago, they had a Dem governor.

So it's pretty hard to argue the state is any longer "very conservative."

Mark Kelly ran as a left of center moderate. He has said he could support a 15 minimum wage. So this whole idea that we cannot do better than Sinema is not based on any evidence whatsoever. You can run a left of center Dem in the primary, beat her, and win. No one is saying run the next coming of Bernie Sanders.

Kelly-D is likely to get re-elected to AZ other US Senate in 2022.
Regarding the 2022 AZ Governors Race. Democratic candidates Hobbs-D or Stanton-D is likely to run and win the November General Election. Whoever does not win the Democratic nomination in the 2022 AZ Governors Race is likely to challenge Sinema-D in the Democratic primary. Hobbs-D has won statewide office in 2018(AZ Secretary of State) and is likely to win in 2022(Secretary of State or Governor).

and Kelly isn't against the minimum wage, so either he sees that's not a barrier to re-election or somehow Sinema sees something Kelly doesn't. I don't think it's the latter.

Same for Manchin. He'll move as the electorate moves.

Remember the lessons of Ted Kennedy who lamented not taking the deal with Nixon on health care. We might have been where
Canada is at by now. We need to control the floors of both chambers. We won't get votes from the GOP on anything we propose. Our initiatives will never come to a vote if the GOP controls either chamber.

We build on what we have. Sinema and Manchin are ours. They didn't flip like Lieberman did.

McCain saved healthcare, and the Arizona GOP just censured his wife, for Pete's sake. Now they are proposing legislation that will allow the legislature to overturn election certification.

Why primary Sinema? Get on the ground and work for her reelection and more eDmocrats in the Arizona legislature instead.

Its 4 years away.

She's got to drop this idea of 60 votes to pass anything.

7.2 million people in AZ

8.8 million people in NJ.

I'm not going to be held hostage by people who voted for that asswipe Governor of AZ.

We need progress now. An AG. An increase in the minimum wage. A lift (retroactive) of the SALT Cap. Its killing middle class people in NJ.

100 divided by 2 +1 = a majority.
