try working on your position on the NSA spying issue. The bingo thing is funny, but does not say anything about your side. Since you keep posting "hair-on-fire" humor instead of your position, I am forced to guess. Here it goes...

Your position on this issue is: " Barack is a Democrat, therefore it is unacceptable for anyone to dissent about anything that happens during his term, because it makes Democrats look bad". You are a Democratic strategist ( according to Fox... Liked the support for Social Security, btw ), so you MUST know that arguing for spying and against Constitutional rights is a Public Relations Loser. While I liked you clip from Fox News, I must say that I noticed your website has a lot of "safe" material; Pro-Social Security, anti-rape, and womens rights. All "slam dunks" that no one with a sense of decency would argue against. The tough stuff ( i.e. NSA spying/ whistleblowing ) just gets these weak " Hair-on-fire " attacks. Ridiculing an opponents talking points is not the same thing as refuting them. I could easily do the same "bingo" gag, except there aren't enough " pro-spying/ Anti- Constitutional" talking points to fill even one line on the board.
You seem like a decent cat. If you want to try to reach those of us that object to the NSA overreach, you will have to do better than "Hair-on-fire". If you just want to stick your finger in the eye of anyone that you think is making The President and/or Democrats look bad by prolonging this issue, then keep the ridicule coming .

We ARE on the same side, but this is an issue where Partisanship should be absent.

Good luck on whatever else you are working on.......

a cute name for my show, it's a cornerstone of my approach to politics. I think that is what makes me so effective even in various media where the predominant ideology is decidedly against me.

Opinions with a strong grounding in fact and strong analysis are pretty irresistible and yes, they probably seem safe as a byproduct.

I am sure it was not meant to stick a finger in your eye. I assume it was posted for folks who have been accused of being authoritarians, etc. (i.e., had many fingers stuck in their eyes) to give them a bit of comic relief.

But you are right about one thing. Steven is a pretty cool cat.

This is The Barack Obama Group. We support this President and his agenda's. May I reiterate, I said Support, not follow blindly.

There are many places that you can post your dissatisfaction of the President, on GD.

If you just want to stick your finger in the eye of anyone that you think is making The President and/or Democrats look bad by prolonging this issue, then keep the ridicule coming .

That statement is uncalled for here.

I'm addressing my post to all comers. The fact that this group is dedicated to support of President Obama and his policies does NOT mean we blindly follow the leader. It simply means that this is the place for positive outlook. No one says or practices the idea that we shouldn't study and participate in different locations that may be designated for open and perhaps even fierce debate. But people shouldn't confuse apples and oranges either. There's a legitimate need for both types of encounters. It doesn't trample on anyone's rights or responsibilities to insist on keeping them separated. A trivial comparison, perhaps, but do you eat dinner in your bathtub?

I'm saying it's only reasonable and decent to respect the announced boundaries of a group's originators. Otherwise it amounts to stomping in somebody else's house where you don't have the keys or an invitation to barge in and behave rudely, especially if it includes relieving yourself wherever and whenever you please on the premises. That's barbaric and totally counterproductive to persuading anyone to your own point of view. So it's not only repelling but also stupid.

It seems quite a few people don't respect justifiable parameters, however, and so they require frequent reminders. Long story short, don't eat fried chicken in someone else's living room and then wipe your greasy hands on the sofa. If that's not easy enough to understand, it can always be ratcheted up to less congenial terms. Above all, don't come barging in like a barbarian and start lecturing legitimate occupants on ethics. That flies about like a lead balloon!

even when we know they'll be back and bring their offspring with them besides? Then it becomes nothing more than impotent flailing with no relief in sight. Alerting is basically a sick joke, and the trolls know it since it seldom results in effective action. If the hosts don't hose the place down, then it's basically over, as the Rovian Pig Boys know and are counting on.

Yes, we all have better things to do than watch the horizon for incoming. That's the point - if you don't set up and USE an effective control system, there's no time left for anything constructive. We'd might as well deliver the GOPers the next election in a box wrapped in a white flag. The idea positively enfuriates me. I'd be better off vegging out in front of the boob tube.

If this were a party local hq (as it should be electronically) and those nihilists barged in off the street and proceeded to turn everything topsy turvy, would we cringe against the wall or throw them out on their ear? That's exactly what happened at barackobama.com in the name of inclusion: nobody could have a decent discussion for all the deliberate disruption and manufactured chaos. It got to be like digging up an outhouse in search of one lost pearl.

been tolerated there, and the site is in a free-for-all due to the massive number of trolls.

There has always been a DU troll infestation, I'm reading in GD it's the same group that has been trolling since Obama was elected that set up the climate to invite more trolls. They bring DU up in internet searches as anti-Obama and anti-Democrat and thus they rush into DU in droves.

They didn't want Obama as the candidate in 2008 and now quite openly in GD, use the same language. They say they are 'not going to get over' the scandal du jour. They are not dumb, don't want Democrats to win, anyway.

The owners of DU decided that some features like Meta were destroying the unity of the site, and closed it down; they also are in possession of a vast amount of numerical data on posts. I have read ATA threads indicating that this influences their stance on letting the juries decide.

And Skinner has commented on the games being played. These games are commonly used in internet forums as cointel. Yes, many are paid.

But we can't know who it is and one of the great things, both a strength and a weakness, is the open minded of Democrats. We are most definitely not the totalitarians and authoritarians that the GOP and Paul supporters are.

They are purists, truly. That is who it appears we are dealing with. For those who take offense at the word Paulbot, I suggest a glance at the TOS.

Let's try not to fight among ourselves.

Your friend,
freshwest.

You knew it would only attract flies.

Looks to me like you're just shilling for your own website. In Ireland that's called a changeling. And no, it's not a compliment.

If you're just here to find out who's willing and able to create blowback, cover your ears because I'm only getting started.

AND THAT GOES FOR THE PERSON(S) IN CHARGE OF THIS ALLEGED SAFE-HAVEN GROUP, TOO! IF YOU HOLD OUT PROMISES OF STANDARDS YOU WON'T OR CAN'T ENFORCE, ADMIT IT AND HAND OVER THE KEYS TO SOMEBODY ELSE. OTHERWISE IT'S LYING.

But it was still a very unwise move, given the certainty of attracting a melee. Let abused members in GD be defended in GD where the offense occurred. The only people who need their shorts snapped in here are the traveling trolls.
