If you're up early on Sunday

try to watch CBS "Sunday Morning" with Charles Osgood. They sent a crew to cover our "51st State" forum. The camera caught us protesting (gasp!), then we all went inside where they filmed the discussion. After, they interviewed some of our bunch (not me, good thing seeing as how I tend to dissolve in the presence of microphones); they also interviewed some proponents.

This question actually made it onto the November ballot; we'd hoped they might reconsider given all that happened with our recent floods. A few months ago we coudn't imagine anything that would draw our attention as much as fracking has. Or gun laws. Or personhood. And we're running a mayoral candidate who really has the good-old-(white)boy-club squirming a bit -- she's young and Hispanic and very dynamic, and their big screed against her is that she was a community organizer for Obama.

Anyhow, just thought you might enjoy taking a peek at one of the things that keeps us from being bored around here. And they thought we couldn't walk and chew gum . . .
