Some say the President is a failure. That he has accomplished nothing. They say he is worse than Bush. Who are these people? Do they have one foot in reality? So many don't see it. He is so many steps ahead of most people, the GOP can't keep up! Bless you Sir, Immigration reform. Thank you. Now the GOP has to wake up and broaden it.

He is a hard working person. He cares. He juggles an amazing number of issues. I continue to support him. What tremendous strides we might have made in human rights if the GOP had not been so hateful.

They, too, fled a war-torn continent, after nearly all their extended family had died in the Holocaust.

My mother's stories about our own origins often emphasized the Irish who fled the Potato Famine.

This country of ours has always had a fraught relationship with immigrants. The pendulum of acceptance/rejection swings back and forth, and right now we're in a rather ugly phase. At least President Obama can mitigate the situation, even if he can't entirely fix it.

Thank you, Mr President!

I will never forget watching his speech following the CA primary (I was in Seattle then), when he gave victory sign and said, "And now it's on to Chicago." I was about to turn off the TV when suddenly the horrible news came--he'd been shot. I honestly thought, for a few brief moments, that he would live. What a different world this might be if he had. I still weep.

Oh, and Dolores Huerta is as beautiful now as she was then. What a blessing her life has been.

Another not so happy memory, although my daughter was born that year (a very good, though painful memory).

RFK, Dr. King. I was pregnant and my dad came over and wanted to teach me target shooting. Well, I ripped him a new one. He was a great Dad, just a diff generation. Yep, a memorable year. And I also remember my 12th? bday, JFK was shot the next day - that was one fucked up bday. Ok, sorry to get so OT. Been rather nostalgic and emotional lately.

Gotta shake it off. Happy almost Turkey day to all! Lots to be thankful for. Crap, there I go again. Better lay off the java so late.

Meanwhile poor Japan sinks back into recession. And Republicans and Wall Street will never give the president the credit he deserves for some smart decisions.

"The US economy expanded at an annualised rate of 3.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2014, ending years of mediocre domestic growth and shaking off the more recent weakness in other major global economies.

The figure came in well ahead of analysts’ expectations of 3 per cent growth – supporting the US Federal Reserve’s decision to end its third round of quantitative easing on Wednesday."

Latinos are aware that republicans would go after him for doing this, and latinos know how to be grateful. We are used to not getting very much, so when somebody gives us something, we don't forget. This is great for our community and for the Democratic Party.

This is wonderful for your community, Democrats and the entire country.

Racism should have no place in 2014.
