but I'm not worried about people having insurance, my concern is for people without health care.

And I'll stop this tired old objection when we are given a simple public option.

and insists that the spend 85 percent of the dollars that they take in on healthcare. That means that they have to operate at 15 per cent overhead.

Is it single payer? No. Is it a step in the right direction? Yes.

Insurers are free to deny any claim they please. You have a right to appeal, of course. They hope that you will give up or die before the appeals process is done.

I would think that everyone here wants a public option. Now we need that same sentiment in congress.

Personally, I believe the number one reason we don't have it now is just how bad the economy was when the HC debate was raging.

Most people haven't given it a thought. Or a thought to just how many people HI companies employ in this country. Or a thought to how many of us would have jumped over to the public option (I would have).

I hate HI companies. But they did keep people employed through those dark days. They kept a lot of families in their homes and fed and all.

When we do finally get a pub op it'll have to phase in gradually, given how much of the economy is HI based.

Paying people to actively cause social harm can't be good for the economy in the long run.

If that happens, Dems are toast.

http://www.pressherald.com/news/GOP-Medicare-plan-borrows-from-and-repeals-Obamas.html

But if Obama is re-elected and his health care law is upheld by the Supreme Court, Wyden sees Medicare exchanges and a premium support system as the basis for a deal to reduce health care costs. He said Democrats would be hard pressed to argue against the idea if it is working for people under 65 as a result of the health care overhaul.

However, if it is used as an excuse to eliminate Medicare, it is TOAST--and so are Democrats for the forseeable future.
