Let's get rid of evil regulations and have more clips of disasters to add to this compilation!

Why didn't the author know?...not enough research, or poor sources to the ones he had studied. You have hit the jackpot of failures with that one. I had never heard about that, and had read a couple of articles about poor architecture in the world.. Thank You for adding another..and it would have replaced the Standard Oil Building in Chicago if the author had known.

Killing hundreds of people is grounds for a number 2 in stupidity. Number 1 has already been taken by Mr. Trump.!!

Oh...and Thank You, Thank You and Thank You..for teaching me a bit of LA history and an example of extreme stupidity that I did not know about.

I didn't read the article I posted, but on the one I read it talked about how no geological survey was done and the water drove under the wall of the dam.

And whenever I argue with Libertarian/Republicans about the need for government and regulatory agencies, I used to tell them that regulations are the reason that you can go into a building and be relatively secure in the knowledge that you're not going to fall through the floor. If it was left up to developers, they would cut every corner imaginable and bribe everybody in existence to avoid accountability when someone inevitably died from their shenanigans.

This video explains it way better than I ever could, and I will use it in the future for just such arguments.

We need to hear more people defend the importance of "government regulations."
