Man Faces $102K Tab After Drinking Gallons Of Pre Prohibition Era Booze

That's one hell of an expensive hangover.

A live-in caretaker faces a $102,000 bar tab for allegedly drinking 52 bottles of rare pre-Prohibition Era whiskey.

John Saunders, 62, is accused of glugging the liquor he found hidden behind a basement staircase at the mansion where he was living in Scottdale, Pa.
Saunders told police the liquid probably evaporated — and because it was so old, it probably wasn’t any good anyways.

Homeowner Patricia Hill had planned to donate the booze — which was part of a 104-bottle stash — to a local museum and had asked Saunders to keep it safe.
