Fewer than 100 show up in SF to protest Clooney's downticket Dem fundraiser

http://sfist.com/2016/04/16/video_fridays_pot-banging_protest_o.php

They had hoped 1600 pan bangers for Bernie would show up, but there weren't even 100. As a side note, the weather was really beautiful here yesterday, and the beaches and parks were filled with people.

As KRON 4 reports, protesters chanted "We are the 99 percent!" As one Sanders supporter, Heidi Knodle, shouted, "Votes for sale only $353,000, including dinner. Get big money out of politics.”
According to the Chronicle, "Other signs compared Clinton to fabled French queen Marie Antoinette of 'Let them eat cake' fame."
It's unclear whether the #DineWithThe99 potluck actually took place outside Pishevar's home or not, but Hoodline says, "After some time protesting outside of Pishevar's home, the group continued marching down Jones and over to Jackson Street, with police following on motorcycles."
As we noted earlier, this was one of two fundraisers the Clooneys are hosting for Hillary, with the second one tonight in Los Angeles at the Clooney home, which will be attended by Steven Spielberg, wife Kate Capshaw, and big-time Obama supporters Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg.
The events are for the "joint fundraising committee" known as the Hillary Victory Fund, which is separate from the campaign and therefore can accept bigger donations than the $2,700 limit. An early Victory Fund event hosted by Sting in December raised $8 million in one night, as Politico noted. Funds from these fundraisers also go to other Democratic candidates in smaller races.

Truly heavy sigh.

Shame. Raising money for down tickets Dems who can defeat the GOPers. Shame on them. I guess they refer a GOP rule.

The MSNBC anchor made it clear they were Sanders supporters but not necessarily Democrats. That cannot be said often enough.

and selfish too. I am disappointed in Bernie for not saying anything about these charlatans and masqueraders. Either he condones what they are doing or he is afraid of them.

Frankly, suspect that the most egregious of the bunch are actually paid trolls from the kochead cabal (kind of the antithesis of the teabaggers) infiltrating for the sake of divide and conquer. Be that as it may, it's up to Bernie and his supporters to reel in their fringe element themselves... being exposed for what they are at present will only alienate them more when the dust settles. But I'm sure there's some big $$ coming from the KansasKings to support all this activity and bad behavior.

completely out of context today. Mostly as a clickbait headline, but also in articles where they don't include the remainder of his comments about down-ballot Democrats and the Supreme Court. More fodder for anti-Clinton media. SMH
