Email from Robby Mook

Got this a few minutes ago. This is the kind of shit republicans feed their constituents who lap it up like catnip and treat it as though it were gospel. Robbie sets the record straight.

I want to let you know about a development that just occurred, because it matters. The tone of this primary matters, and the condition of our party at the end of it will matter as we prepare to face Donald Trump or Ted Cruz this fall.

Earlier today, the Sanders campaign wrote a letter to the Democratic National Committee, falsely accusing us of violating campaign finance law.

You won’t be surprised by what happened next: 26 minutes after the letter was sent, his campaign sent a fundraising email attempting to capitalize on the phony charges.

(Before you read any further, let's get one thing straight: this accusation is false. They're questioning our joint fundraising agreement with the DNC, which allows us to support Democrats running up and down the ticket -- the same fundraising structure used by President Obama in 2008 and 2012.)

This latest incident is part of a troubling pattern of behavior -- occurring just as Bernie’s mathematical odds of winning the nomination dwindle toward zero -- in which Sanders and his team are not just debating us on issues (which we all agree is perfectly fair), but rather attacking Hillary Clinton’s character, integrity, and motivations.

The fact that they include the Democratic Party in these charges -- an organization we want future generations of progressives to trust and support -- further confirms that the Sanders campaign has let things get out of hand in its waning days. To wit:

Over the weekend, they had protesters outside one of our fundraising events -- one whose proceeds went not just to Hillary for America, but to the Democratic National Committee and 32 state Democratic Parties -- throwing dollar bills at Hillary’s motorcade, as if they were at, shall we say, an adult entertainment venue. This was just days after someone introducing Bernie at a rally called Hillary a “Democratic whore.”
In last week’s debate, Bernie questioned Hillary’s commitment to fighting climate change because a whopping 0.2% of the money given to our campaign has come from employees of oil and gas companies. Not even 2%, mind you: 0.2%.
And of course, Sanders spent several days calling Hillary unqualified for the presidency, based on an entirely false claim that Hillary had said the same about him. She hadn’t (and still hasn’t, even after what he said).
To be clear, we welcome a debate on the important issues facing Americans, like how to prevent gun violence, encourage tolerance, and do more to level the playing field for Americans who are counting on us.

But it’s hard to see how anyone -- other than Donald Trump and Ted Cruz -- benefits from this downward spiral of irresponsible and baseless attacks. Right about now is when we ought to be talking about coming together as a progressive movement, not undermining a generation of voters’ faith in the Democratic Party and in the woman who is almost certain to be its nominee.

Thank you for everything you do to support our campaign.

We have to pay tad devine his $800, 000 a month and all you other slumps.

Oh, and look they lost AM on this.. who was instrumental in helping push the BS version of the Pope story.

Straight out of the goplaybook 101.. accuse your opponent of the crap you're trying to get away with.

... but his attempt to cripple it has been an abject failure. What better way to accomplish a greater goal than to do it from the inside, and inducing a lot of gullible people to help him burn It down, while ignoring the biggest threat of all. The republican party. Sure, they post once in awhile about mean and nasty old Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, but it seems to me, insincere, and secondary to their greater cause.

#6: "You don't change the system from within the Democratic Party."

That was an especially stupid thing to say. Change can be good and that is exactly the place where it should happen. The problem is Bernie Sanders is not wanting to change the system from within. He wants to do irreparable harm to it from within. Hillary is doing it right.

Not just the "irresponsible and baseless attacks", but also the exaggeration and misrepresentation of Sanders' own supposed accomplishments. "Vaticangate" was the last straw for me. Also, I've now had my fill of his over-simplistic and narrow message and the way his most fanatic supporters who swallow his message uncritically, and can't see past that message to consider the absence of plans to solve the problems he identified or seriously consider his overall qualifications and suitability for this most complex and consequential of jobs.

The media really need to vet Sanders much more than they've done so far.

In the beginning, I viewed BS with friendly interest, and I especially appreciated the issues he raised.

No more.

PS. Also, I've long loathed his campaign manager,Tad Devine, as I was reminded last night when I heard him on Chris Hayes. His counterpart in Hillary's campaign, Robby Mook, is mature, competent, adult.

And explained it nicely--as the professional he is. I am not so nice when I discuss these tactics with others

I think one of the reasons that Sanders is attacking the up and down ticket democratic fundraising is because he intends to hoard his campaign cash and to appear principled while doing it. He will go on as a leader of his Sandbagger Party when he returns to the Senate and make every issue as contentious as hell. I sure hope I'm wrong. Sanders will never put the microphone down again, and he will no longer be the same mumbling senator of little consequence he was before. Someone opened the Pandora's box of his ego.

... that Pandora's box of his ego was opened by his supporters. The more they laid their hostile ideological crap on the more emboldened he became which transformed him into a puppet of the masses. When this is over and Hillary has clinched the nomination I have serious doubts as to whether Sanders will remain a Democrat. I see a flip flop coming because the purpose for his conversion will have been served.
