from gun violence.. and the most tragic loss of all.. the death of your child.

I can't even begin to understand how painful it would be.. but I know my heart goes out to them and I want sensible gun laws so less and less of us will have to go through it.

Sandy Phillips is amazing in how she understands exactly what Bernie Sanders lacks.. and she reminds him that The Pope condemns gun manufacturers and their bloody lobby.

She tells him to get on the right side of history!

Well done, Sandy Phillips!

Big gun manufacturers rest easy as their weapons of mass killing go on taking innocent life every day.

Bernie Sanders is on the job protecting them from lawsuits so their blood money is safe!

her plea to him was heartbreaking. He really blew it when he laughed, when Hillary brought up gun violence.

He has no sense of what is appropriate behavior. He showed the same lack of knowledge with the Pope @ the Vatican. It was all about BS.. others' feelngs and mission weren't even considered.

Thank you, she~

It really puts his support of the gun lobby into stark perspective... what a jerk. He can't face the ugliness of our world, Vermont is pretty tranquil and other-worldly compared to the rest of the US. He obviously doesn't get it.

I also want to point out that while he was "meeting the Pope" Hillary was meeting with real people in public housing, he didn't get around to meeting anyone from that community until yesterday or today. But Hillary is the corrupt one according to Bernie and Jane?

easy in this case for someone who is more interested in economic systems for populations than caring for individuals.

In any case, he's come through for his gun manufacturers donors and protected hunters in Vermont. He could meet with these families and reach some kind of agreement on needed action, but won't.

20. Mothers touched by tragedy rally behind Hillary Clinton
Tue Apr 19, 2016, 08:38 AM
Apr 2016

NEW YORK (AP) — It wasn't a giant rally with screaming supporters, celebrity friends and a feisty candidate. But the small gathering on behalf of Hillary Clinton in a Brooklyn church still reverberated with emotion.

Sitting in the airy chapel at Mount Ararat Church in Brooklyn, the crowd heard from five women who had lost their children to gun violence or after contact with the police, including the mothers of Trayvon Martin and Eric Garner. One by one, they shared stories of loss and grief and argued Clinton was the candidate best prepared to take on gun violence and reshape the criminal justice system.

"She was the only candidate that reached out to us," said Sybrina Fulton, whose 17-year-old son, Trayvon Martin, was fatally shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer in 2012. "That showed us that our tragedies were important." She said: "It's important that we let our voices be heard and you absolutely can do that at the polls."

More than a dozen of these women have dubbed themselves the "Mothers of the Movement." They met privately with Clinton and each other last year at a Chicago restaurant, pouring out their stories while the Democratic presidential contender took notes. Though Clinton didn't directly ask for endorsements at the time, the women decided to get involved and have campaigned for her in South Carolina, Wisconsin and Ohio. Clinton's campaign pays their travel expenses.

This is a big issue for me, as it was when I supported O'Malley's standing up to the NRA in Maryland.

Sanders' campaign has many second-amendment types among the ranks. I have absolutely no sympathy for their position or arguments.

The NRA helped Sanders defeat a Democratic gun-control candidate in Vermont. He lost my support on that issue alone.

Thanks so much for posting this, Cha. It's very important.
