Florida has a closed primary

Why is New York different than Florida?

Sanders got his ass handed to him 64.4% to 33.3% in Florida.

Is he trying to use New York as his hail Mary pass?

Maybe Sanders should remember that he's running as a Democrat and not as an Independent which he seems to have been his whole life.

So once again why all the outrage now?

He's outraged about anything that hurts him, supports anything that helps him.

Look around the country. Bernistas are trying to get state parties to force their super delegates to vote for whoever won the state wherever Bernie won, but saying nothing about that in states he lost.

New York is a must win for him.
I think he's already beat via the math but he can keep the circus going a little longer
at least until his next major loss.

I think he doesn't want the dance to be over.

he stopped seeing himself as someone speaking up for the issues he wants discussed
and started seeing himself as savior of the Democratic party.

The lawsuits and the smears are just smoke and mirrors
so his supporters can point and say how honest and tough he is. Bernie the super hero fixing all the
worlds ills.

I hope Hillarys win tomorrow is double digit so we can wrap this up.

He has no interest in saving the Democratic Party. He was and independent and still is an independent.

He is just raising money now and not for the party. George Clooney and Hillary were raising money for the party. Lots of money!

The money raised for the party helps Senate and Congressional candidates. Where is Bernie helping them?

he said the biggest help he would bring
down ticket Democrats would be by winning because he was
bringing millions of new people to the Democratic Party.

Isn't that how the GOP ended up with the T-Party nutters?

Bringing in Libertarians and the angry and hateful.

A lot of Team Bernie reminds me of that group.

No way will Sanders graciously bow out...ever.

...of Back Bench Bernie's campaign will come next Tuesday after Hillary follows up a high teens to 20% (I hope) NY win with another 5 for 5 state shellacking in PA, MD, CT, RI & DE, all by double digits.

At that point, she'll be so close to mathematically clinching that even Rove in-law Jeff Weaver will have to wake up and smell the latte'.

but I'm not Catholic and I see it the same as celebrity chasing.

I agree about the RW talking points tho.
Straight out of Fox News.

What I really noticed as the first chink in Bernies armor tho was how so many
of his supporters didn't just support Bernie they hated Hillary.

A seething unreasoning hate followed by all the RW talking points as the reason.
I'm talking about the really stupid talking points too.

That the Clintons murdered people and BIll was a rapist. Just absolutely
disconnected from reality.

The Bernie movement is IMHO the Democratic version of the T-Party.
They have a hard time really articulating what they want other than broad descriptions.
They have a very detailed list of what they hate. When you point them to evidence that
their info is wrong they just say they don't believe it.

Same with stuff like Hillarys vote on the Iraq war. She's admitted it was a mistake and apologized for it but
to team Bernie she's lying.

I their simplistic world view
Bernie = all good
Hillary = all bad

You can't reason with zealots. I'm not even going to try.

but if he wanted to win there so badly he should have gone to his interview @ the NYDN prepared for the questions as he was trying to get their endorsement. He should have done his homework.

And, in retrospect left Dr Paul Song out of the introduction spot @ that rally in Washington Square Park..

But, going to the Vatican in search of the Pope after hyping his special invitation all week was the nadir of his NY campaign. If he really thought he had a chance in New York why would he leave? Unless he wanted to change the subject of his disastrous NYDN interview.

All sanders succeeded in doing by leaving town was show how inept he would be as a representative of America in another country. No diplomacy.. just arrogantly thinking of himself.

And, the way he dismisses the South and the Southern vote has not gone unnoticed by African American Voters on Twitter. One tweeter who was bummed about BS dismissing "the Deep South win for Hillary" said.. "I have relatives in New York".

Jeff Gauvin ??@JeffersonObama
Bernie's base despises Democrats & Dem leaders. They refuse to become Democrats. Now complaining they can't vote in a Dem closed primary.

We in Florida could take advantage of great early voting and absentee opportunities. I think giving the working people the ability to chose a good time to vote turned Florida into a glorious landslide.

NY will be closer IMO but should be a nice shutdown nevertheless! I'm excited!!!

associated themselves with the Democratic party.

This isn't rocket science. New registrations are no impacted in New York, provided they registered by the deadline required in March 2016.

It only affects those who were already registered, and now wish to change their affiliation. Those in that category needed to have changed their registration changed last year.

That has been the way it has been in New York for some time now. The primaries that are coming up today and until the end of April a mostly closed primaries. Those states believe that those who are registered with a political party affiliation, should be the ones who determine who their respective nominees are in their THEIR primary, not someone who has been aligned as an independent, green or libertarian, or someone other than a Democrat.

Their argument is that though they are not registered as Democrats, they want to be able to determine the Democratic nominee. No thank you.

I have no doubt some of those unhappy campers argue that the Super Delegates are unfair also, ignoring that Super Delegates will vote with the candidate who wins the most PLEDGED DELEGATES. It isn't unfair. In fact what can be argued as unfair is the proportional delegate rules, instead of winner take all.

Ironically, here in California, republicans would like to have proportional electoral college votes for the general election, along with trying to split the state up into six parts. Fortunately, the state say right through that.
