When Sanders returns to the Senate.

How should the Democratic Senate members handle assignment of committee positions in the next session?

Since he likes primaries so much, I think Shumlin should primary him in 2018. nt MADem Apr 2016 #1

I wouldn't give him a committee chair. We actually need to get things done and he's way too far to the left to be trusted to make passable legislation. We need someone who will work with the white house and I doubt he will do it.

His attacks against the Democratic Party should not be rewarded.

He simply does not work well with Democrats and refuses to support their campaigns to retake the Senate from the Republicans.

He didn't have to behave this way. The Democratic Party graciously allowed him to run as a Democrat, and he has done everything he could to dismantle the party.

He needs to retire, so a real Democrat can take his place in the Senate.

It is better for the Democratic leadership to make his committee assignment rather than the repukes.

But I don't think anyone on either side will ever trust him again. And for good reason. Oh, yeah. I'd also primary the holy hell out of that... guy. (I'll save the name calling for June.)

Under the Agriculture committee, put him on the Jobs, Rural Economic Growth and Energy Innovation subcommittee.

Under Appropriations, put him on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies.

Under Energy and Natural Resources, assign him to the Public Lands, Forests and Mining subcommittee.

Since he is a rural-state senator, he should work on rural-state issues.
