(32,623 posts)Ideology less, but Clinton and Warren are more aligned than most will admit. It wouldn't broaden the appeal of the ticket enough unless Sanders goes 3rd party or something crazy.

(24,577 posts)That would be a very strong ticket and a young VP to run after Clinton's term.

(32,623 posts)I like Connie Schultz's husband -name escapes me, a Senator from OH which is a critical swing state. But it might not be smart to pull a Senator in because a gop could be elected to replace him.
Castro is from AZ I think, another swing, and will pull in Latino voters.
Both are quite liberal. There've been others mentioned but I don't remember.

(32,623 posts)Yes, Brown. Not even Castro would be enough to help in TX lol.

(27,813 posts)But in this atmosphere, a so-called no name might be better. He will appeal to tech workers and he is, ummm, cute.

(31,170 posts)I'll have to check him out!
Love his focus on energy and the enviromnent, the DP, and he was a Hillary backer too!
And the governorship would be totally safe in an election year.

(31,170 posts)with a special interest and background working in one of Hillary's core targets, and his work in energy issues is a perfect fit. I also like his DP views and environmental focus. He's also a Hillary super d!

(27,813 posts)I know some of his family, they are solid (I don't know him).

(31,170 posts)looks great so far! I almost posted last night asking if people knew of good VP options in the West and NW, but didnt feel well enough to follow up with replies. I've been thinking about this for about a week now. I know a lot of people are pro Castro, but I think we should look at others with a bit more experience.

Thomas E. Perez secretary of labor
Anthony Foxx secretary of transporttion
and, as others mentioned
Julián Castro secretary of HUD.

(24,396 posts)That leaves out Warren and my first choice, Sherrod Brown, who has already said he doesn't want the VP spot.
So, a House member might be a good choice - one of the Castro brothers is a natural. A D governor would also be a good choice.
A left-field choice: Russ Feingold.
