Will there be a Clinton/Sanders debate in May? (Original Post) NurseJackie Apr 2016 OP
there would be no reason for Hillary to accept drray23 Apr 2016 #1
You're right, it would only "benefit" Bernie ... and even then, not by very much. NurseJackie Apr 2016 #3
Sanders does terribly in debates and Hillary doesn't need it. stopbush Apr 2016 #5
I'm more inclined to think he'll back off. LisaM Apr 2016 #11

The nomination is pretty much sealed. In fact, it would be a bad idea to allow for an other debate where they would tear at each other. We do not need to do the work for the GOP. I am pretty sure there will be no debates.

But still, why give him the opportunity to land any blows and to continue his attacks? She should concentrate on public appearances, town halls, fundraising and GOTV efforts.

Go, Hillary! We love you!

Yes, I said fundraising ... that should really piss-off some people and draw them into this group's thread.

Sanders will still push for it because he loves to hear himself repeat the same talking points over, and over, and over...

The last one didn't exactly work out well for him. All anyone saw was a red-faced Sanders waving his finger. And she shone. His rowdy bros in the audience didn't improve things.

Bernie will figure that repeating his stump speech, telling America that Hillary voted for the Iraq War and made speeches to Goldman Sachs, and wagging his finger at her eventually has GOT to work, doesn't it?, and that it will finally work for California. Because...well, you know, by the time California hits he'll only be about 450 delegates behind and by winning 500 delegates there, he can put Hillary away in one foul swoop.

The only explanation is he's smoking bath salts.

There's gotta be a little gremlin in the Clinton campaign whispering "yes." So far, Sanders has done so-so at best in debates, and he tends to lose the following state by wider than expected margins.

However, I don't think too many media people, or the Clinton campaign itself, will consider him a viable candidate after next Tuesday if it goes as I think it will (and as the data says it will).
