Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumSkinner, you know that if you call it before the clinch, it will be a disaster.
What you don't seem to know is that it's all going to happen anyway.
The people who are going to leave when it's called? They're going to leave anyway.
The fundraising that will cease when they go? It's going to cease anyway, at least in the short term.
The accusation of administrative bias? Thanks to the superdelegates, there is a wide belief that Hillary cannot clinch until the convention, so that is also going to happen anyway.
Nothing that is going to happen when Hillary clinches the nomination is going to be avoided by waiting 48 days -- except that it may be a little more intense if it's called early. But balance that intensity against 48 extra days of civil discourse, of unity, of rebuilding DU's reputation as a great place to be.
And for god's sake, call it.

(5,044 posts)The rhetoric is getting worse, many people are not evolving. We, the democratic party are united in our opposition in the personal attacks. The vast majority of every elected democrat are already calling for the personal attacks to cease, we should hold DU to the same standard.
I'm not in favor if Sander's dropping out of the race, but Hillary will be the nominee so at the least we should halted the ongoing personal attacks of her and her supporters here on DU.
imho.

Also, to quote Maugham, "It just doesn't matter." The media is already shifting to the general, and final exams are coming up for the campus kiddies. I'm just hoping they're learning a lot about how our political system works. It's obvious they're not learning it in school anymore.

(161 posts)I have no evidence; but, it appears that demographics of the Bernie Supporters versus the rest of DU might not be the audience that will attract the most advertisers. Just something to think about. I have been avoiding going to DU for the past few months (I call it Bernie Underground) until I found the Hillary Group. I am positive that my Demographics are very attractive to an advertiser
