Bernie faces Southern revolt

Bernie faces Southern revolt
Democratic leaders want Sanders to stop dismissing the South, where Hillary Clinton's wins have been powered by black votes.
By GABRIEL DEBENEDETTI 04/20/16 04:02 PM EDT

NEW YORK — An influential group of Democrats is piling on Bernie Sanders for portraying Hillary Clinton's Southern victories as a product of a conservative region that is out of step with the rest of the country’s thinking.

In a stern, roughly 800-word letter sent Wednesday via post to Sanders’ Burlington, Vermont, headquarters, a high-profile group that includes the Democratic Party chairs of South Carolina, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi expresses its concern about his characterizations of the South, which they contend “minimize the importance of the voices of a core constituency for our party”: African-Americans.

"Deep South" code words for AA voters in the south that didn't support Sanders so were written off by him and his campaign.

Its coming back to haunt him I hope.

And I say entitled and mean entitled, because for all the talk from the Bernie Group about a "coronation," that's clearly and obviously what they expected for Bernie. He was supposed to ride in on his white horse, conveniently named Ideologically Pure Ideas, and the whole party was supposed to swoon and exclaim and Thank The Heavens that Bernie Sanders came down from the mountain to bless us all with his wisdom.

But that never happened, so we have to listen to their projection about "Clinton's coronation." Sorry, no, unless winning more of the vote, more of the states, and more of the delegates to be a "coronation" instead of an election like it really is. Bernie ran a bad campaign, and none of that is Clinton's, or our, fault.

Of course now that Sanders is losing his campaign mouthpiece says the popular vote/will of the people doesn't matter and they will try to flip the hated "corporate whores" they so despised when Bernie was playing his champion of the people role.

In contrast, Hillary Clinton has spent her entire career trying to help people all across the South. She saw
a region full of families and children of every color, and instead of diminishing them, she worked to build
them up. She is committed to a long-term strategy of rebuilding our state Democratic parties, to assist
candidates up and down the ballot, and to serve as a voice for the voiceless. She has not dismissed the
importance of states that you have won, because she realizes s that to be President of the United States
you have to be a champion for all of the states. To be leader of the Party, you have to be with Democrats
in all states as well. That includes the ones you won and yes, even the ones you lose.

Bernie Sander's isn't a Democrat, Has never been a Democrat and only changed his affiliation to Democrat because he wanted media coverage. He has not done any fund raising for the Democrats.

He has even admitted he only using the party for his own ends.

Bernie Sanders says he ran as Democrat for the media attention

Bernie Sanders on Monday night said he decided to run for president as a Democrat because of the media attention he would receive.

"Do you run as an independent? Do you run within the Democratic party? We concluded-- and I think it was absolutely the right decision, that, A) in terms of media coverage -- you have to run within the Democratic Party," the Vermont independent said at MSNBC's Democratic town hall in Columbus, Ohio.
