been saying.. but, here's David Plouffe saying it!

Bernie Sanders is now behind by millions of votes and hundreds of delegates, meaning that the superdelegates he keeps complaining about aren’t even a factor. This race is a blowout, and he would need to win seventy to eighty percent of the vote in every remaining state in order to climb back into contention, which is demographically impossible. Plouffe congratulated Sanders on the “stunningly strong campaign” that he’s run, but went on to state that “raising $$ stating you have path to nomination is fraud.” There is no way that Plouffe, who sits on the board of the Obama Foundation, would say these words without President Obama’s implicit approval

...is becoming a problem that will not be tolerated. Sanders seems to want to undermine our democratic system, and our Democrat Party, for his own gain. What he is doing, unless he sharply veers course right away, is not going to be put up with. We cannot afford to indulge Sanders and his fantasy about being a leader of a revolution any longer.
As for the rest of those politicians you made reference to--things will change with new campaign finance laws, an FEC that steps in, and a strong Justice Department. We are slowly transforming away from the political shenanigans of late as the Republicans blow themselves up and the first of charges are being laid in Flint.

...to kinda save face.
He might come out and "suspend his campaign" after giving it some careful consideration--saying something like the threat of the Republicans taking the White House and Congress is just too grave. He may say that he will work against them in any way he can, in the immediate sense that means helping Clinton win, but that he will fight on in the Senate and will pick up the fight for the White House again in 2020. He will vow to carry the torch that has been resoundingly given him through his enormous grass roots movement, or something like that.
You can bet that behind the scenes right now there are many important people pushing him to knock off the avoidable damage he is doing the Party right now, and that he will have to accept defeat and support Hillary Clinton. Sooner is better than later, but he will be defiant for a while longer because--well, he is that kind of guy.

Oh wait, he doesn't believe in Charity.

Or he can use it to support other candidates.

Oh wait, so far he has not shown a desire to help other candidates.

Maybe he's trying to at least win the fund raising game so he can go out feeling like he's on top.

Have you seen the predictions for the remaining primary states???? It's going to be a massacre! The longer he stays in to be beaten down, the less likely the Millennials will stick around.

The problem with that is, if he keeps scrounging for $$$ and doesn't deliver anything but failure, he will be completely useless to us. Without his Followers and their campaign contributions, he's just a dried up loser. His "Faithful" are just a bunch of Naderites who will never vote for Hillary anyway.

I think the clock is ticking for him and as it ticks he will be losing state after state.

Look how he suddenly took off to his home and stranded his assigned press people at the airport in Pennsylvania after flying them there in the first place. He has a temper and a huge ego. Not a great combination. He will not take losing well, especially when he needs blow-outs in his favor.

How many times have we seen - often after a loss, or after some statement Hillary's made - everyone rushing to their phones to donate $27?

I bet who's ever attempting to keep the financial records of all this straight is probably ready to throw all the receipts in the air at this point. They're addicted to going to their phones and donating over and over and over, as if that's some special accomplishment. And then they can go on Reddit or DU or wherever and proudly proclaim that they donated to Bernie.

There are hefty commissions paid for each one. Jane does some, it is a perk after all, and so do others like Weaver and Devine (all on top of fat salaries). That is a good way to launder campaign money and keep it for personal use. Sanders campaign is outspending in ads at least 2-1 in each State (Nevada was even higher).
Their expenses are over-the-top, as well. That flight with extended family to Rome (did you see the sample menu? ), the hotels, catering, fancy restaurants, expensive clothes, motorcades (do they get to keep any of the vehicles?), spa pampering to look good, etc., are all billable to the campaign.
It is the good life Sanders and his family are living now. They will certainly be rich from now on, too. The Clintons made most of their millions from book sales. I would not be surprised if book deals were not already in the works for the Sanders clan.
