Her more personal style of campaigning is much more effective than all the rallies that Bernie has:
HARTFORD Surrounded by people who have been touched by gun violence, Hillary Clinton pledged Thursday to push for stricter laws in order to reduce the 33,000 Americans who are killed each year by guns.
The panelists told passionate, personal stories about how their family members had died from gun violence in Newtown, and in cities around Connecticut.
Clinton spent more than 90 minutes at the Wilson-Gray YMCA, patiently taking questions from the crowd and shaking hands after her remarks. She spoke about the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School and credited Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who was in attendance, and state lawmakers for their gun control efforts.
"I know how hard it was to do what Connecticut's governor and legislature did after Sandy Hook, so I am not here to make promises I can't keep," said Clinton, a former U.S senator and secretary of state. "I am here to tell you I will use every single minute of every day
looking for ways we can save lives, that we can change the gun culture. It is just too easy for people to reach for a gun to settle their problems. It makes no sense."
Clinton was introduced and joined on stage by Erica Smegielski, whose mother Dawn Hochsprung was the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School and killed in the school shootings.
