Just voted in Rhode Island

What a crappy, rainy day!

Guess what?

No line.

Didn't have to wait even for a second. Lots of people there voting but moving along smoothly - I purposefully went at a time I thought would be light. So just like I said a few days ago, closing 66% of the precincts had ZERO effect on voting. I don't think people get just how small of a state this is. There are 10 cities in this country with a larger population than this entire state.

I was voter 688 in my precinct - I live in the 2nd largest city (by population) in the state. In case anyone gets the wrong idea - it's a city of just over 80,000 people so not very big even though it's the 2nd largest in the state, LOL!

Posted in the Hillary group because I do not want to be bullied - which happens in the rest of DU

I brought my mom with me so that's 2 for Hillary

Pouring rain here in PA (for right now, it should clear in a while), a small line, and voter #211 at my polling place. That's actually very good!

I just heard a young voter in Baltimore tell MSNBC that his main voting issue is paying off his student loans. How would posting that anywhere else but here work out for me?

Please tell me they don't really believe that Bernie will make their loans disappear.

Truly heavy sigh.

Took out way more than they needed and lived off the money.

When I was in school, I paid for 50% of my school with softball scholarship, 20% with Pell grants and the last 30% with loans. I did not take more than I needed to live off the money - I got a job and worked for the money I needed to live.

I just shake my head when someone says they are waiting for their student loan disbursement to make a big purchase of something they really don't need.

I must know some very irresponsible people, right? That's not how most people with this huge student loan debt do it, right?

We were both eligible for massive student loans, but we didn't need them. The summer before my husband defended his dissertation, we took out a student loan for $5900 and spent 8 weeks in Europe. Of course, I had a fulltime teaching job by then, and paying back the $$ was easy. We didn't live off of student loans, and we even had both house and car payments while paying off the student loan. We all make decisions. My father taught me to stop and think just how any decision I make in life will affect everyone around me, not just how it will affect my wants or needs. The best advice I ever got.

Growing up we were extremely economically insecure - electricity and phone getting shut off when I was a kid and stuff like that - taught me that there isn't always enough money even if you work your ass off so you better be careful with your money. Not having huge debts was pretty important. I got into a better school than the one I ended up attending because the one I attended paid me to play softball and the Ivy League one wouldn't.

But as a Clinton supporter, I mist be really really rich and an oligarch - amiright!?

What we all learn if we live long enough is that if we work hard enough to have money in the bank, there's no time to enjoy it. And if we have time, there's never enough money for necessities. Such is the fate of most of us middle class voters, especially those of us who took a vow of poverty and became teachers.

....that are normally used for primaries were closed. I read isthat most of the polling places that were "closed" were also not open for previous primaries.

Just setting up a good excuse for either "he could have won by more" or "that's why he lost".
