Sanders Is No Longer Hillary's Problem. He's The DNC's Problem.

Yep.

The old fart's ego has him flailing at windmills of his own creation. He believes his own spin, and he's going to ride the $27 admiration train for as long as he can (hey - he waited 40 years for this spotlight!).

Hillary's doing just fine. She's won the nomination and is on her way to the presidency. She doesn't need to engage Sanders any longer, not on a debate stage, not in campaign dialogue and certainly not in the Party platform.

But the DNC does have to deal with the self-aggrandizing monster they created when they allowed Back-bench Bernie to run in the D primaries as a DINO. He's quickly moved from defeat in the primaries to his Plan B, which is to take down the Democratic Party in no uncertain terms. I'm sure the DNC is under no delusions that there is anything benign or constructive in Sanders' latest gambit. They're not fooled by his "I've never gone negative" lies or his "gotta defeat the Rs" attempts at appeasement. His 2016 end game is clear: take down the D Party and replace it with a party modeled in his political image.

We can only hope the DNC is already on top of the emerging political violence Sanders is hoping to unleash on the party and is prepared to take the steps necessary to stop this half-baked usurper in his tracks.

2. The alert stalking attempt on this post failed. I was juror #5:

On Wed Apr 27, 2016, 11:26 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

Sanders Is No Longer Hillary's Problem. He's The DNC's Problem.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1107118788

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Personal attact on one of the democratic candidates. This is a safe haven to support Hillary but not to attack and post insults directed at one of the still active democratic candidates. This is over the top and should be hidden.

Thanks for your valuable time jurors

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Apr 27, 2016, 11:40 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Childish insults... over the top.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Hey, alerter. Stop wasting people's time. Its a protected group and you're on the outside. Deal with it.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I have no problem with what the poster accuses Bernie of wanting to do to the party, nor do I care what the poster says. Gore Bernie's ox all you want to in your group, and the Sanders' group can slaughter Hillary's sacred cow in theirs. Toughen up, all you precious snowflakes!
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: "Personal attack on one of the Democratic candidates"? Is this alert for real? If this gets hidden then the entire GDP forum should be hidden. How can this possibly be hidden when the candidate in question himself has said way worse, not to mention what's said every day here on DU? There is no personal attack here. Is it not enough for Sanders fans to have the entire rest of the website? STOP ALERT STALKING THE HRC GROUP!
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is pathetic and childish, but at least they are flinging feces in their own sandbox (Hillary forum).
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This type of invective against a fellow Democrat should not be tolerated on DU. It's not just a one off comment that is made in jest or written as satire, but a full-throated attack on another Democrat, not even supported with any facts, just nasty personal insults.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

8. It was bad in a different way.. we were all still on the Democrats side

unlike now we weren't trashing the party.. but the differences of opinion on candidates was wild. Insults were thrown but not everyone got butthurt about it.. they just threw some back.

The trashing of the Democrats in general never would have happened though - so on that count it is worse now. Tolerating insults was required to survive the primaries back then.

Apr 2016

know how to deal with the guy who got on the Dem primary ticket with a promise he wouldn't be negative and then broke his promise and started sliming it and Hillary.

He got busted downloading Hillary's supporter data so he fired some staff and then to change the subject he sued the DNC.

BS will go down in history as that guy.

Yes, we can only hope, stop!

But millions of Democratic voters have already done a pretty good job. The superdelegates will simply follow their lead.

19. Change the Democratic Candidate Rules
Thu Apr 28, 2016, 01:52 PM
Apr 2016

Possible changes to keep this from a happening a gain:

- All primaries are closed, If I can't vote for the local volunteer Fire Chief even though my taxes pay for the equipment and training, how can a non-registered Democrat vote in my primary

- Eliminate or reduce caucuses, they appear to be very undemocratic. Thank god I live in a closed primary state. If I had to go to a caucus (taking time off from work) and have some Bernie Bot get in my face, this ex paratrooper, Armor Officer, combat Vet would not take it well

- Any candidate for a Democratic office who is a sitting office holder must have run as a Democrat in the last 2 election cycles for the office they hold. If they never held office, have been an active member of the party for 5 years with documented participation (phone banking, canvassing, donations, meetings, etc.)

20. Agreed. I have been calling for the DNC to institute the "Sanders Rule,"
Thu Apr 28, 2016, 01:56 PM
Apr 2016

which would say that any person wishing to enter the D primaries for president must be a member-in-good-standing of the D Party for at least 5 consecutive years leading up to and including the day they announce their candidacy for president.

I've sent that suggestion off to the DNC.

Unfortunately, when it comes to whether a particular state holds a caucus or an open or closed primary, the state - not the political parties - set the rules.
