Jane Sanders: Bernie Does Poorly With Minorities Because Hillary Is ‘The Anointed One

http://bluenationreview.com/jane-sanders-bernie-does-poorly-with-minorities-because-hillary-is-the-anointed-one/

Jane Sanders has become a ubiquitous presence on cable news, acting as Bernie’s chief surrogate. Despite nearly impossible odds for Bernie’s campaign, his aides and surrogates continue to cast aspersions at Hillary, while pretending they are avoiding character attacks.

Here’s a a head-spinning comment from Jane Sanders on Morning Joe:

I think if he was running against anybody but Hillary Clinton, who was the anointed one, who is the most well-known person that is running for office in this country and in the world. She has a good relationship with the African-American community that goes back decades. So that hurts us, helps her.

The Sanders campaign is in complete denial about the destructive effect of their character smears against Hillary, pretending that their relentless insinuations of dishonesty and corruption are somehow acceptable. But they are not now and they never were. Back in 2015 (seemingly a lifetime ago), Bernie himself considered the transcript hit a “character assault” that he “long opposed.”

We’re facing the real possibility of a President Trump and Bernie should be turning his full fire against the GOP to help Democrats win in November. Continuing to drop hints that there’s something nefarious about the Clinton Foundation, as Bernie recently did, or calling Hillary the “anointed one,” is unhelpful in the extreme.

It’s time to stop ....Bernie and move to help fight GOP...if your with us....??

It is NEVER supported with evidence and therefore is a smear.

HRC's worked as hard as everyone else in both the 2008 and 2016 campaigns to win the nomination.

What are they referring to? The superdelegates? The superdelegates do not determine how citizens vote. And if I were a candidate I would consider it MY shortcoming if few of my colleagues endorsed me. Further, why in the world would someone from OUTSIDE the party believe that s/he would be MORE entitled to superdelegate support than someone who has worked within the party and now works hard to raise money for other Democrats' campaigns?

It is a crock and one of several things that have completely changed my view of Sanders since this campaign began. An honest and sincere person is honest with himself first and does not lob vague and unfounded charges against others, particularly not against those who share many of his/her political views.

It's a way to dismiss her accomplishments and achievements, as well as all the extremely hard work she's put in over the years.

And when has she ever said (or acted like) she was "entitled" to the DNC nomination or the presidency?? People act like she's said that and it annoys the crap out of me. If anyone is acting like an entitled person, it's Bernie.

Honestly, Hillary Clinton has taken some damage from 30 years of constant attacks, so undoubtedly Sanders has actually done better against her than he would against some others.

Can you honestly see him performing this well against, say, Barack Obama? I can't.

That having been said, the fact that he's still performing pretty poorly against Clinton is simply a testament of how little traction he actually has. Clinton *has* established a decades-long relationship with African-Americans, and warmed up early enough that LBGTs came over to her side. She's expressed concern--and listened--to enough people to become popular with every group except the young white guys.

Sanders...well, not so much.

And women paying attention know that she has been extremely consistent in advocating for the right changes. Sanders OTOH explicitly prioritizes income inequality and general economic issues, when directly asked, and implies that rising tides lift all boats, which we know from evidence is not universally true. For example, economic expansion certainly did not help women and African Americans nearly as much as it did white males in the 50s. And economic improvement does not address many issues that affect women.

Most candidates who are genuinely committed to multiple goals are able to multitask rather than to trade off - or ignore - such fundamental priorities. Why would it surprise anyone that most women would clearly prefer HRC and BS to Trump et al., but that between HRC and BS, there are good reasons for women to support HRC? So add that group to the list of those whose members will tend to favor HRC over BS. Note for the statistically challenged: statistical relationships between group tendencies and an outcome do NOT imply that all members of the group will favor that outcome.

believing that his support was greater than it actually is by using those rallies for photo ops. But as we learned, his rallies didn't translate into votes, which exposes the "mega-rally" as a failed campaign tactic. But what's Bernie's response? MOAR RALLIES!!111

I still can't believe this man thought he could be the leader of the United States of America. More than ever, I now believe that Tad Devine hoodwinked Sanders into running as a grift on progressive voters. Devine's still getting paid, even as Sanders' reputation is in tatters. I almost feel sorry, but then I remember that Sanders a) should have known better and b) he's the candidate, so he could have dictated a change in strategy whenever he wanted, but didn't. He chose not to manage his campaign better, which is ultimately his fault.

You want to know who is the anointed one...

The one who woke up one day and decided to run for president with no planning or preparing.

The one who isn't part of the party, but thinks he deserves everything from the party.

The one who thinks that he doesn't have to build decades long relationships with different groups of people, they should just vote for him.

The one who thinks it A-OK to insult the party, the people in the party and the voters of the party that he just joined, and thinks everyone should side with him, because he knows better.

The one who has no understanding of the party rules towards elections, that have been around forever, and thinks they should be changed for him.

The one who is behind in delegates and the popular vote, but thinks he can walk into the convention and steal the election from the woman who worked her ass off.

Jane, dear, that person, thinks he is the anointed one...not Hillary.

Bernie has been quite dismissive of our current President. He barely mentions him and when he does, it's mostly to slam his record. And let's not forget when Bernie openly called for a primary challenge to him during the last Presidential election. Bernie dug himself a HUGE hole by disparaging Obama, a hole he could never get out of.
