Developing perhaps. But makes sense.

(5,811 posts)All sarcasm aside. A politically sophisticated campaign team would've contacted the FEC in advance and gotten an opinion from them as to whether the trip would be an allowable expense.

(27,815 posts)... yet. But I suspect it will be when the dust settles.
BS kept saying the trip "wasn't political" - so how did he think he would justify funding the trip with campaign money?
As I've said before, I don't think Bernie is very bright.

(4,451 posts)He never expands on policy.. "IT WILL GET DONE" that's all he says. Very much like Trump.

(27,815 posts)His inability to provide details of his "plans", not being able to make a speech that isn't full of the same talking points he's been spewing for thirty years, getting flustered/angry when asked a question he obviously doesn't know the answer to, constantly reverting to familiar topics and catch-phrases when challenged rather than trying to formulate an answer to a direct question, etc.
His debate performances were abysmal because he lacks the ability to think on his feet. And there have been so many times during his campaign that he obviously didn't know what was going on with his own staff/advisors. I don't think he is smart enough to retain information, which is why he tries to cut people off when they're speaking. He gets agitated when someone rattles off facts or statistics, or asks multi-faceted questions, because he can't keep up with what is being said.
It's why he did well in the "big rally" setting - no challenges, no questions. He can talk at people, but he can't communicate one-on-one because it requires listening and retaining what they said in order to respond to it intelligently.
Not a very bright man at all.

(15,370 posts)articles he penned while in his "free-lance" stage, I believe that you are spot on.
He has some good lines that he repeats over and over again, but that's about it. And this:
That says it all.

(1,359 posts)If it's a private expenditure, I doubt there are any rules to cover that method of payoff. I can just tell that if it becomes a story, you'll see dozens of BSers willing to empty their savings so that the purity of Bernie's papal ambush is preserved.
The poor-man image he has cultivated will protect him from the consequences of his own actions, and the grift gains a whole new angle.

SFBS has the "I pretty much wear da same suit for everything" poor-guy bullshit.
I guess he has no problem taking kid's lunch money for his own selfish gratification.

(4,640 posts)the politicians who've had to go to jail for this large of a violation, for misusing campaign funds? I wouldn't be surprised if it was pursued.
