Where's the surge?

Huffington Post (aka Polster.com) has a great summary of recent polls.

http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster#2016-races

Secretary Clinton consistently leads all other contenders, both Democratic and republican.

The closest Sanders comes in a primary poll is neighboring New Hampshire, where he still trails by 14%.

It appears that by the spring the Sanders juggernaut is going to "crash and bern"

I was just told on another thread that HRC's poll numbers are based "100% on name recognition and nothing more".

Apparently, every single person who votes in these polls knows absolutely nothing about Hillary - they just know her name.

Nope - even though Bush leads Clinton 2-1 in ex-Presidents, she's ahead of Bush III nationally.

I would think it's IMPOSSIBLE after all this time and all this news and all these headlines and all these campaigns, and all the years she's spent on center stage in one way or other - you could not reasonably or logically argue that 100% is based on name recognition and nothing more. Unless all the people surveyed have been living in caves since 1992.

That's a ridiculous premise - "based '100% on name recognition and nothing more'." WHAT THE HELL are they smoking??? (Cuz it's gotta be good stuff and nobody's offered me any!)

... the posts that keep popping up here about "when people find out about ..," followed by a lengthy list of HRC's past positions and statements, "... they won't vote for her."

They carry on as though things like Whitewater and Vince Foster are going to be late-breaking-news to HRC supporters.

I think a lot of it is projection - judging by some of the BS supporters who STILL don't know how the political process works, they just assume that everyone is as ignorant of the facts as they are.

any favors by basically telling non-supporters that they're stupid. If they want more people to support BS and to siphon off votes from HC, insulting her supporters (and anyone else outside his tent) and telling them that they only vote for someone based on name recognition won't do the trick.

... is pretty much all they've got in the arsenal.

That's not to say Bernie doesn't have his good points - it's just that some of his "supporters" don't even know what those good points are, so they can't "go positive".

I just hope BS's supporters in the real world are at least putting their time on his behalf to better use.

the crowds that give her ratings far ahead of anyone else in the running, the women's groups (Emily's List), LGBT, African American & Latino and all others who are fed up with the pathetic superiority complex of the good old white guys that legislate division in our society..if you think her supporters are of huge numbers now, wait till they all cast their votes, the crowds that give Hillary her those endorsements & those percentage points far ahead of all others will show just how huge Hillary's "crowds" really are.

Glad you agree as to her huge crowds.

……the New School where she touted every one of Bernie's points, so she sure as hell is feeling his effect and worried about it.

So he's changed the conversation and in that sense has already won. Because now——despite all the scandals, real or trumped up, that will inevitably dog her—we have her on the record and we'll hold her to it.

Too bad she didn't offer any details—but that's Hill.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

So Bernie Sanders fans are rodents or insects. This is a new low, even for this group. Can we at least maintain since semblance of decorum, or is this sort of discourse now the levels to which DU has sunk?

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Jul 18, 2015, 07:21 AM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The entire thread neds to be alerted on. It is POLITICS people. Nobody expects it to be neat and pretty.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: The snarling attack dog behavior of some members needs to stop. Please hide this highly offensive tripe.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT

Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT

Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

It is very different from Bernie who just keeps saying the same thing in different ways every time he speaks. He doesn't get much coverage and only a small but avid percentage of the electorate is listening to him.
Hillary is rolling out her agenda thoughtfully and for the long haul. She has plenty of time. After all, she be running until November 2016.

You know what? I seriously think that Sanders is in this for his 20% of the delegates that he gets in the the primaries so he can have some input on the platform.
