Who watched the Iowa speeches?

At least the Democrats are not the clown car like the repubs.

To me, Hillary has always been the most aligned with my issues - not to mention she can beat the repubs head to head. She got a big welcome. She still is the most vocal about childcare, family leave, and women's rights. One reporter (MSNBC?) "blamed" Hillary that the security required everyone to be checked with a wand? That was weird.

All the five gave a pretty typical stump speech without much new. I noticed that Bernie has now added a "path to citizenship" into his speech - that's new I think. He got that from Hillary. I know it gets me in trouble in GD on DU, but his grating/negative style is distracting to me and not Presidential. Bernie keeps wanting a revolution like getting pitch forks and marching on Wall Street attracts a subgroup, but I'm having trouble where that is going.

There was not a lot on gun control across the board. I'm guessing everyone thinks Iowa is a bit pro-gun.

At any rate, I thought Lincoln, Jim, and Martin were ok, but not much new. Webb mentions the military every time. I'm not sure if that helps him. He makes little jokes like "two purple hearts and three tattoos".

She looked great. She had her speech down, no reading from papers on the podium or teleprompter. Strong. Inspiring. Lots of standing Os.

After she finihed, the crowd was chanting Hill-A-Ree! Hill-A-Ree! Hill-A-Ree! Hill-A-Ree! Hill-A-Ree!

Hillary, O'Malley, and Sanders.

O'Malley was boring and was reading from notes. Hillary was engaged and knew what she was going to say.
She mentioned Iowa problems and related to the people in Iowa much more that the others.
Sanders blustered... same old thing with him.

...I am so with you on Bernie's style. I am making a point not to bash him, especially not for superficial reasons...but it does feel liberating to say----his speeches do nothing for me. If he has charisma, it is just zooming way past me. I get that people are excited about his ideas, but I'm not feeling the rapture, let alone the "Bern."

I agree with your assessment. I thought Webb was kind of embarrassing.
