(3,580 posts)I don't know your situation but even if you have savings, it is scarey to not know when you'll get a paycheck again. But you are so warm and real and if you talk the way you write, you'll blow them away in a job interview.

(3,580 posts)We're afraid to stand up for ourselves anymore. We had a patient that was violent towards us, us old girls took him down but when we complained we needed a couple of male staff they told us if we couldn't do the job to retire.
I was joking when I said we should all move into my house and retire. Start an old lady commune but it's starting to make sense.

(3,300 posts)Have self-confidence in yourself you will find another job ,maybe better then the one you had,we know a lot friends who lost jobs and professional jobs also but they found work,even better then job they had try temp work also,gets you paycheck while still looking......We live in Mich a lot of GM workers lost their jobs , a GM plant not to far away from us they find other positions....some on job 30 yrs and still had to look for work....best to you...you will find work again soon,jobs have open up now more then the Bush years.....

I've been there too 2 years ago lost a job of 15 years and I thought I would never recover from it depression almost took over me but here I am now happier than ever with a newfound job. I bet you still got lots going on, stay positive and everything will fall in place.

(1,771 posts)I saw where you mentioned that your age may be a factor. Believe it or not there is a shift in hiring - many companies are seeking 'older' employees because of their life and business experiences. Regroup. Process things a bit. Seek advice from others. Until then..........
