Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumAs I understand it, this man is being considered for VP. He seems VERY impressive.
This is the wiki page on Becerra. He seems very impressive. I've heard him speak and seen him interviewed.
Thoughts?

(47,186 posts)I cannot remember seeing interviews of him, so I don't have a strong opinion either way. But he is a leader in the House, that speaks well for him.

He's very soothing and knows his stuff. He's gracious.. makes those venomous talkers look bad, imv.

(521 posts)Not necessarily a prerequisite, but it helps. More importantly, though, he's very articulate and well-spoken, which is what we need for the debates. Hillary is a great debater, and if her VP pick is, too, then Trump et al. are royally screwed.

(8,013 posts)I've heard him interviewed one time, and he seemed knowledgeable and comfortable in front of the camera. He wouldn't give an advantage in any swing state other than his hispanic roots would help in states with large hispanic populations.
I once liked Castro, but the GOP is already after him because his mother was a "radical."

(9,273 posts)Give him another decade of service, have him run for Senate (maybe pull a Hillary/RFK and run somewhere other than Texas) and he'll be POTUS someday. Not quite yet.
I would love to see HRC choose Sen. Warren. And for those who think we're not ready for an all-female ticket, why was an all-male ticket perfectly fine for the past couple centuries?

(17,055 posts)if I had my druthers I'd love to see her pick a woman VP. Maybe someone like Amy Klobuchar.

(9,494 posts)He has served on a broad range of committees. Trump will never win CA anyway but he could be helpful in the western states.

(15,512 posts)I've lived in his district and campaigned for him and he's super friendly and cordial. Also clean as a whistle except for one pardon granted by Bill in the last days of his term that's hung around his neck every time he explores higher office. So this would be a great way of boosting his profile. Expect to hear endlessly about pardon-gate but it's going to be a 24/7 scandal-fest anyway and one more won't make much dif LOL.
