An All-Caps Explosion of Feelings

As Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have become head-to-head rivals, their denizens have begun attacking each other, the Democratic Party eating itself like a snake that loves science and Planned Parenthood. And things have gotten ugly.
For many of us, it's not simply politics as usual. It's very personal.
For me, the backlash against Hillary Clinton feels very, very personal.

as much as I don't want it to. It feels like an attack against women, sometimes, too. I can't help but be affected by all the sexist slurs being lobbed by both Trump and BS supporters. Granted, the ones from the Trump camp are worse, but I think the ones from the left hurt more because I don't expect them (at least, I didn't expect them).

He was an self centered egomaniac in the 1980s and he is the same self centered egomaniac today.

When did a 74 year old man who flaps his arms become cool?

I guess just like horn rimmed glasses without lenses and man buns are fashion trends. I must be getting too old to understand the whole hipster thing.

he can represent anything that anyone wants him to. Not consequential decisions. No bills that bear his name. Bernie is cool because he has come to represent whatever folks want to see in him. He's not establishment (he's a career politician). He's the purest progressive (Unless, it comes down to the 2007 immigration bill and guns or the crime bill). He's being martyred by a corrupt system (he's losing because he doesn't appeal to PoC and democrats) etc.

That article was spot on.

Clinton is the only candidate that has highly detailed plans on how she will accomplish goals. Where are Bernie's or Donald's? Yet they call her unqualified. Remember when she 1st announced and laid out her platform. Within days people were demanding answers to HOW she planned on accomplishing them. Her listening tour was mocked as pandering. Bernie still has not laid out detailed plans on how he plans to accomplishing anything. Clinton is helping down ticket Dems to get elected, because she know that she will need them in the long term to help her get thing passed. Bernie is supporting challengers and labeling those same Dems as corporatists, elitist and establishment. How much would those people he is condemning now, help him if he had won?

Now flip those scenarios around. How well do you think Clinton would have fared if she
did not have detailed plans
alienated the Dems in office
excused the aggressive behavior as merely over excitement for her campaign.

She never would have made it past the 5th primary state.

If Clinton looks tired, she can't handle the pressure. If Bernie looks tired, he is working hard.

Bernie walks out of a media interview and it is excused because the interviewer was "mean". Hillary stands up to hours and hours of testimony without breaking a sweat and that is ignored.

When she lost in 08, she was expected to support and help Obama. She has won this primary, yet she is to apologize and beg Bernie supporters to support her or they will vote Trump to teach her.

Bernie's supporters can act like a bunch of hooligan's on multiple occasions, Bernie can characterize it as rambunctious and deny that they pushed right up to the edge of violence. The death threats and hateful, sexist names they called the female politicians has not been addressed at all. Trump supporters have beaten random people because of things trump says. He called them enthusiastic.
Hillary gets nancy Reagan's AIDS history wrong at her funeral and people can't vote for her anymore. Despite Clinton's long and positive record on Aids for decades.

Bernie and Trump are grandparents and that is a positive. Clinton is a grandparent and it is a political ploy.

This article hits the nail on the head. If Clinton acted like either one of the candidates have, she would have been given the boot a long time ago. She has a very narrow framework to work in. If she steps out 1 inch she is excoriated from all angles. No, female politicians do not have the luxury of being able to wing it, give 1/2 assed answers, ignore issues, let alone have a bad hair day.
