Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumYou get out what you put in. Why Hillary won.
Hillary won with minorities, women, and Democrats. She has spent decades reaching out to minorities and listening to their needs and concerns, she has been a Democrat for decades, fighting for the party and its platform. And as a successful woman in a man's political world she has earned respect among the majority of American women. This is what she put in.
If you don't spend decades reaching out to minorities, getting involved in their causes, having ANY real interaction with them, and you don't put in the effort to work with and help Democrats, these people will not favor you over the ones who do. Why would they, they don't even KNOW you. And thus, they will not vote for you.
You get what you give.

(3,967 posts)As much as BS has been working on that stump speech ever since he wrapped up with his civil rights activism in 1962, it seems he has not been working on building bridges - he likes being the gadfly. Hillary has been working WITH everyone she can.

(2,542 posts)Her campaign is not something she decided to do on a whim. It's been the goal she has worked for her entire career. She has spent her time and energy on the causes that matter to her, including women's and children's health, a very significant portion of the poor population in America. When she was unable to deliver universal healthcare coverage to everyone in the 1990s, she still managed to make gains for children out of the aftermath.
She's going to be an awesome President.

(30,058 posts)listened. She met on personal level, gathering information to be a better president. She has worked for many years to improve the lives of minorities, women and Democrats. She worked on civil rights, she went to migrant camps seeking children to help, she went to South Texas to register voters, she has worked worldwide for women and children, good for our country.
