I think I actually might hate politics.

I can't stand this shit anymore. This entire election season has been bizarre and it's only going to get worse with the email controversy, Bernie wanting to debate Trump, and the news media unable to decide whether Trump is a normal person or not.

It's all bullshit. It just depresses me. I sometimes wish I was one of those unengaged airheads who never read the news and had no clue who any of the justices were on the Supreme Court.

like that because I was super hyped about this election as the GOP was finally being exposed and torn apart by their own hands. I was excited when Bernie first announced he was running and would push the pendulum farther Progressive.
Instead Bernie and his supporters are trying to tear everthing apart with their vile tantrum right at the point when Progressives have the best chance to start rebuilding our Congress and get the power to really move toward Progressive goals.

They are already trying like hell to place the blame Hillary supporters for a possible Trump presidency as they try and hijack the Democratic party.

If every election is going to be like this, it's just pretty awful!

3. Hate it or not, you have to participate

If you don't, then you don't understand what is happening and then you risk becoming the uninformed who then become disgruntled and then try to stage a revolution about things they know nothing about. That is where you make a fool of yourself and some fringe candidate comes to the rescue, sort of. But you end up backing that fringe candidate because they are not "the establishment."

Politics is a necessary evil in our lives, we love to hate it, hate to love it, but we can't leave it alone.

I believe it to be our civic duty to participate in politics, it is how the system works best. All those who want change, they don't want to do it the proper way by getting involved and that is why they are frustrated. But they do not understand this as they are "the uninformed."

There have been many cringe worthy moments in this election. The latest being Sander's and Trump's need for more and more attention. This debate thing is crazy. I hope it doesn't happen.

Sanders' campaign left the rails a long time ago.

Trump's campaign was never on the rails.

I also know who I will and won't vote for and it has nothing to do with supporters, either.

"It's only going to get worse"--isn't that a happy prospect?

By November, we're all going to need therapy for PTSD.

...a few months back, when she looked down at her phone and said, "some judge named Scalia died" - only she pronounced it like 'scallions'....sca-lia.

She was aghast that I grinned, pumped my fist and said an audible 'yes!' Tried to explain how his death - albeit untimely - meant a greater chance of preserving Roe v. Wade...

But if you don't pay attention to politics - mind you, not all who don't pay attention are unengaged airheads, IMO. There are only so many waking hours in the day and many folks don't have the luxury of time to be able to sit and read and listen and watch and think and form nuanced positions on all things political.

Still, if you don't pay attention there is that much less stress in one's day to day.

((sigh)) That'd be nice ~
