Socialism is not what I though it would be.

Downright freaky in MHO. Socialist believers are almost cult like in their actions. It's a herd mentality that I've never really faced before.

Wow...fascisim and socialism. Similar in a lot of ways.

8. You are quite correct. Socialism can be and ought to be very democratic.

What we are seeing in the Sanders version is not very democratic at all. It is an imposed ideology. It maintains that uninformed people will have to be forced to embrace socialism for their own good. This is not democratic socialism.

Political Compass, the site that Sanders supporters love to quote because they show Hillary right-of-center, calls him a centrist and a militarist. They always miss that part. Their ratings are essentially based on a European scale.

He's taken a few socialist stances because he's in one of the few places in the country where he could get away with it and still have a job.

If you look into his past, he was involved in MARXIST activities, which are quite different.

And he has done great harm thereby to the labels "progressive" and "socialist."

At this point, the nuts are starting to crack.

17. Yep, what they call socialism is a strange concoction brewed to maintain a personality cult.

It is mostly about hating this and that person or institution. It is not about constructive plans for promoting a common good.

When you get past a few slogans and positions, it starts to get pretty thin. Its doctrines are as convoluted and inconsistent and fantastical as the thinking of its leader.
