More Importantly, Bernie Can't Derail The Democratic Convention

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/05/28/1531993/-More-Importantly-Bernie-Can-t-Derail-The-Democratic-Convention

There are a couple of diaries about how Bernie wants to derail it, and then others say he doesn’t want to.

For the record, I don’t think he wants to derail anything.

More importantly, he couldn’t if he wanted to.

Look, there’s only one way this convention’s going to go. The person with the most pledged delegates is going to get the backing of the the superdelegates.

As far as things stand right now, that’s Hillary Clinton.

That’s it. Nothing much more complex about the coming month than that. Maybe Bernie supporters protest. That still won’t change that the superdelegates will back the person with the most pledged delegates. That can’t be derailed by anyone.

booths in their own home towns. I think its unlikely that his disaffected youth will pony up the dough for transportation and lodging costs at the convention.

Some might, but a percentage of them will get the dates wrong.

All kidding aside, I do think the vast majority of BS supporters are reasonable people, and those who are not reasonable have proven that they are not real good at getting stuff done.

"More importantly, he couldn’t if he wanted to." That's what I'm counting on.

5. Bernie could have would have saved his political career and been able to become the hero of the left

had he bowed out after NY. Because at that time his followers could have been controlled by cooler heads and Hillary would have promised them greater influence over the convention and the GE issues.

I don't know whom he was listening to but that moment has passed. And whether or not Hillary wins the nomination and or the GE, Bernie's lack of control of his own movement..which has morphed into something erratic and obscene..has sealed his political future: he has none.

the big stage before and he is intoxicated by it....to the point his ego is everything and the wellbeing of America means nothing...I'm afraid he can't stop himself or others at this point.
