Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton has had to endure all this for twenty-five years.
That, that, right there is why I will continue to fight for this woman. Because for twenty-five years she's endured these kind of attacks on herself, her family, her friends, and her own progressive heroes. Republicans and Bernie Sanders aren't saying anything that hasn't said before. It literally took Donald Trump ten seconds to come up with the "Crooked Hillary" monicker. That's the idea that Republicans began planting in 1992 and our media and Bernie Sanders and his supporters have bought it hook, line, and sinker. Today, Clinton has to fight a three-front war: her Democratic opponent, her Republican opponent, and the mainstream media. Yet despite all that, here she is, just over a week away from officially becoming the first female presidential nominee of a major political party in our nation's history. To quote Joe Biden, "That's a big f'ing deal!"......."

(1,151 posts)Though there's one who really dislikes her (largely because she's been influenced by conservative views and when I was supporting Bernie I was using Bernie's perceived purity as a wedge to slowly change her thinking), stuff like this combined with the fact that I was SO VOCAL for Bernie before makes it really uncomfortable to say "Hey I voted for Hillary and here's why".

(1,151 posts)to slowly warming up to her, to actually really excited to have her as my Madame President for 8 years. What I was hoping for from Bernie I now see in Hillary, except that my expectations are more managed. We have Republicans to defeat after all.
Also you guys are really really nice. You know, my last post in the Bernie group was about one of my friends who was in tough times, so tough she literally attempted suicide by drinking nail polish. I thought I would find empathy there. I was wrong. They just threw some campaign sites at me and didn't bother. Ironically she wholly believes that Hillary is corrupt and doesn't care about people like her, and while I'm not gonna try to convince her (yet), I think the movement that's building with Hillary will be the start of something that can reach out to her and many others like her.

It's good she has a friend like you who will help and be there for her through this.
Elections are elections but the life of a friend is priceless.

(1,151 posts)The stuff that led to this point is definitely political; up until then she was overwhelmed because she was barely getting by; she and her wife (who is trans btw) were on disability but they had that CUT, not to mention they couldn't afford to get Obamacare from the exchanges because they live in Texas and Perry blocked Medicaid expansion (they'd qualify for sure). Add the fact the shitty job situation and the need to pay for schooling and there you go.
To me, the right wing damn near killed my friend, and god knows how many other people haven't made it. That's the big picture I see politics in.

(6,444 posts)twitter and so on! I just got myself an account to be here in DU! Because saw what was happening in the primary and thought HRC and HER supporters needed to know they were right even if the world was completely TROLLING them! The trolls were wrong! and WE ARE NOT ALONE! (haha!)
I keep debating myself if I should un-privatize myself! lol! Because I'd love to communicate with TPV, Al Giordano's twitter, Daily News Bin, Blue Nation Review, and Go Blindly! I do have an old-account in Salon.com from long ago so go there and chip in once in a while!
Loving everyone keeping the love and respect for our candidate!!! I read them but not communicate back! Please if you don't mind , tell them they have helped many! and we appreciate them so much, cannot express! They keep us informed, strong and sane!
PS: If you want, you can quote me there!

(373 posts)Particularly the wonky ones who have been politically involved for some time. But in my political science classes, nearly every single Sanders supporter was a VERY vocal Sanders supporter. I knew a few other Clinton supporters in the class and we were quieter because we didn't want to spend the next 45 minutes being attacked by 19-year-olds who peppered most conversations with random "Feel the Bern"s. It just wasn't worth it.
But we Clinton millennials exist. We just don't want to be harassed.

(92,395 posts)supporters. They don't feel the need to be in someone's face declaring their support for Hillary.
Those that feel that need tend to have a lot of insecurities in my experience
