Hillary Is a Force for Racial Justice (Hillary Group)

....Every candidate should follow Hillary Clinton’s lead on confronting the “hard truths about race and justice.”

We need a candidate who understands that the inequality that exists today is a symptom of underlying systemic racism and is ready to act on discrimination, poverty and inequities facing our communities....

Hillary Clinton understands that our schools are more segregated than they were in 1968. She knows the extreme income disparity between black families making $11,000 and white families making $134,000. For months, she’s been talking about the fact that African American men are far more likely to be stopped and searched by police and sentenced to longer prison terms than white men.

In South Carolina, African Americans are 28 percent of the population but make up 62 percent of the prison population. She’s challenged us to “stand up together and say, yes, black lives matter.”

Hillary has been on the front lines of equality and justice for decades — it’s not a fight new to her. After law school she came to South Carolina with the Children’s Defense Fund to investigate the living conditions of youth incarcerated in adult jails. As senator, she introduced the Civil Rights Act of 2008 with Sen. Edward Kennedy and Rep. John Lewis — to strengthen accountability when civil rights and workers’ rights are violated....

Let’s be clear — racial prejudice won’t be changed overnight, but Hillary will work every day to make our union more perfect and our country more united. Too much is at stake to let our leaders talk loud and say nothing....

Our young children are getting killed, disabled and with little or no education, the future is not bright. This is where a little effort can be placed to get these young people ready for the world. It would take less money to get all employed rather than incarcerated.

HRC quotes her mother but some see it as a gaffe at Florissant, MO. meeting:

National Urban League 2015: Hillary Clinton Urges White 'Humility,' Embraces Black Lives Matter Movement:

This is where the terms 'humility' and 'bow down' came from, no doubt. AAs have bowed down for years, and they expect differently now, IMO.
