No, Hillary Clinton is not spiraling downward: (HILLARY GROUP)

There’s no question which is the more interesting and dynamic primary campaign right now, which inevitably leads reporters covering the other one to search for something new to write about. And in a race where there’s an obvious (if not quite certain) nominee, there will always come a point at which the press will decide that that candidate is spiraling downward, the cloak of inevitability is torn and tattered, the campaign is in crisis, the whispering from party loyalists is growing louder, and the scramble is on to find an alternative before the fall occurs.

This is the moment we have come to with Hillary Clinton.

First there was the fevered speculation about Vice President Biden running against her, based on second-hand reports that Biden has had conversations about the possibility of running. I’m sure that Biden thinks about being president about as often as he brushes his teeth, but that doesn’t mean there’s an actual candidacy in the offing....

If you look over the long term at Clinton’s favorability ratings, you do see a drop, but it’s not a huge one, and not the kind of precipitous decline you’d associate with a campaign in free fall. Her favorability is down substantially from when she was Secretary of State, but that’s a natural consequence of her becoming a partisan political figure again. A year ago her favorability was just under 50 percent, and now it’s around 41 or 42 — not what she’d like, surely, but hardly a crisis. As a point of comparison, at this time four years ago, Barack Obama’s job approval was in exactly the same place, 42 percent. You may recall who won the 2012 election....

& innuendos in the media. One thing is for sure it's pure propaganda.

You would think after 20+ years of people doing this to Hillary that they would have learned their lesson by now but as the old saying goes "stupid is as stupid does". I love seeing them waste what little money they have on these failed tactics.

When yo have nothing good to put forward on your candidate, you have no choice but to attack the candidate that is wiping the floor with him.

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad and pathetic.

...showed Sanders went up a few points and at the SAME time Clinton went up one or two!

Tough to catch someone who is above 50% and STILL rising.

So much for the "downward spiral".

The bern slipped from his high of 33% to 30.
I still say his ceiling in national polls will be around 33-35% only.
That's what I took away from the latest national poll.

Her campaign is lousy. When pushed, she picks up some more pragmatic, even liberal ideas, but talk to people on the street, and they are not impressed.

And a horse race. They don't care about anything else. How else could they take any of the R candidates seriously?

racking up key endorsements, so how the hell is she "spiraling downward"? I'm assuming they intend to repeat it over & over & over again until they make it true? She's not going to receive a lot of a positive press, that's a given, but where's the negative stuff on her primary opponents?

...

Clinton 42/48

Sanders 36/33

Clinton's is slightly negative and Sanders is even slighter positive. No huge differences for either one.

On the other hand, we're constantly reminded "nobody knows anything about Sanders yet", explaining his low poll ratings. Same too for his favorability / unfavorability. A few weeks ago his unfavorability was in the low 20s, apparently as people get to know him, like everyone else whose F / U ratings are polled, his UNfavorability rating is going up.

Actually, to have an unfavorability rating of 33% (one third of all polled) and being a relative unknown, tells us a quite a bit. For Clinton, 53% (48/90) of those with an opinion have an unfavorable opinion, yet for the "unknown" Sanders 48% of those with an opinion (33/69) have an unfavorable one.

Finally, remember that Clinton has been in the national public eye since around 1990, lots of time for the right wing attack machine, Fox News, Karl Rove, et. al. to attack her. On the other hand, Sanders has been in the national public eye for only a few months.

BUT, the bottom line is that in the REAL polls, in which those polled indicate their voting preference, Clinton is still leading nationally by a margin of about 3 to 1, and in just about every state polled other than Sander's neighboring New Hampshire, by margins ranging from about 2-1 all the way up to the swing state of Florida at about 10-1 (78-8!)
