He's still in it to win it - for Bernie.

Besides, he's a pro-NRA Senator from Vermont, so...

Over and above the inanity of selling assault weapons to civilians, Sig Sauer marketed theirs with a folding stock so you could tuck it into your jacket and sneak it into places, like Mateen snuck his past the front door of that club.

But thanks to the PLCAA that Bernie voted for and still defends, such lawsuits are blocked.

It's so great that the Democrats are doing this for so many reasons. I guess I'm glad that Bernie didn't show up to use it as more free publicity.

Right now Dem Senators could use someone skilled at droning on for hours on a single topic. Alas, @SenSanders is nowhere to be found.

The primary is over. The campaign is over. All he had to do was catch a flight to DC to join his "fellow Democrats."

All he had to do was his job. I guess that was just too hard.

for 4 hours, consoling the loved ones of the victims and thanking the First Responders.

How much attention will BS try to suck out of the air?

but his own drumbeat. Nothing else seems to matter to him.

For instance, when he accosted the Pope in Rome, Bernie said not one word about the desperate plight of the Syrian refugees that the Pope was going to visit, but merely stated how he liked what the Pope was saying about inequality. There was not even an acknowledgement that the Pope could be thinking about anything else but Bernie.

His grandstanding visit did manage to take away some of the press focus from the Pope's mission because the Pope had to answer questions about whether his involuntary meeting with Bernie constituted an endorsement (it most certainly did not) when the Pope wanted to keep the emphasis on the plight of refugees. For shame!

self absorbed that they can't even bring up the Pope helping the plight of the Syrian Refugees.

It can only be about his stump speech.

It did take away from The Pope's Mission.. but it didn't help sanders.. he lost big in New York and didn't win the Catholics over, either.

he'd just give his tired stump speech which contains nothing, of course, about guns. He might offend the NRA.
