Tom Vilsack: Why I'm supporting Hillary Clinton"I intend to proudly caucus for Hillary Clinton plain and simple. Hillary Clinton is not new to the fight for middle class families. Throughout her public life she has consistently fought to expand and strengthen the middle class. I have no doubt she will continue that fight as president." ... http://www.thegazette.com/subject/opinion/vilsack-why-im-supporting-hillary-clinton-20150825

(30,058 posts)More good endorsements and a good reason to support Hillary is her advocacy for middle class families. She will continue to fight for middle class families.

(1,539 posts)I guess Monsanto told Vilsack to support her.
As Secretary of Agriculture and USDA Chief Tom Vilsack approved GMO alfalfa.
While Vilsack tried to convince the public he was promoting less sodium and sugar, when in reality he is deeply connected to companies and organizations that actively promote unhealthy, dangerous GMO foods!

(1,539 posts)It makes sense if you care about your health and the food you feed your family.
Vilsack represents the revolving door of corruption. It is mind boggling that he is considered a good guy. A good guy for who?

(2,720 posts)Probably not realizing that he's posting in the one group on this board that doesn't bash Democrats.
Therefore he feels fine with attacking any Democrat who endorses Hillary.

(1,539 posts)Not real democrats. If you are a sell out to corporate interest and turn American's into guinea pigs for GMO industry, you should be called out for doing so. I do not consider Vilsak a real democrat.

(1,620 posts)She is beholden to Wall Street. Look at her donors.

(67,782 posts)Vilsack is well respected by members of both parties.
"Her donors" have been discussed here ad nauseum. More than 90% of her donors are individuals. Have a problem with that?
EEO
(1,620 posts)More than 90% of her donors are individuals? That's amazing, if true. Still not relevant to my point about who the major donors are.
What I have a problem with is Hillary. Her plan for the financial sector is a center-right plan. Bernie's plan is a liberal one. Hillary is not talking about things like Glass-Steagall and making sure commercial banks and investment banks are separated. She is not saying too big to fail is too big to exist, like Bernie.

(67,782 posts)Do you really think that Sanders' liberal "plan" (does he really have a plan or is it all just retoric?) will ever get passed in a form even close to what he talks about?
By the way, you DO realize this is the Hillary Clinton Group, don't you?

(145,554 posts)The Sanders campaign is not spending money in Iowa on a ground game and expect that youtube and twitter will replace the need for a ground game. This endorsement combined with the Clinton ground game will help.
