On Hardball, H. Fineman said that Biden did not meet with donors....Hillary Group

Last edited Thu Aug 27, 2015, 12:41 AM - Edit history (1)

It was doing a discussion of possible Biden run. I saw an article or two that said Joe was meeting with donors. Fine also said that Monday on Hardball they had probably gone too far in speculating that Joe would run. He admitted he got calls from friends the next day stepping back on lots of speculation---including the donor meet-up.

Also--they discussed this --The DNC conference call (which I know had several threads out there in gd-p. Turns out the primary reason for conferenc call was for Joe to convince members to support the Iran deal

Ok--a few mysteries solved --Now why did Joe B. met with Eliz Warren?????--another story that got multiple threads out there.

Biden unsure if he has the 'emotional fuel' for 2016 run

By Jim Acosta and Kristen Holmes, CNN

http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/26/politics/joe-biden-dnc-conference-call/index.html

Washington (CNN)Vice President Joe Biden revealed to members of the Democratic National Committee Wednesday that he is assessing whether he has "the emotional fuel" to run for the White House.

"We're dealing at home with ... whether or not there is the emotional fuel at this time to run," Biden told DNC members on a conference call that was billed as an opportunity to hear from the vice president on the Iran nuclear deal. "If I were to announce to run, I have to be able to commit to all of you that I would be able to give it my whole heart and my whole soul, and right now, both are pretty well banged up."
..................

The call was intended to be closed to the media and for members of the Democratic Party only. But CNN obtained access to the conversation.

The vice president spoke for more than an hour on the nuclear agreement. But as soon as he opened the call to questions, he was asked by one DNC member about his future political plans................

I honestly don't think he will run (his hearts just not in it and who could blame him).

You are not suppose to outlive your children.

and small kid. That first year or two was bad for her--losing a child--no matter what age.
You are right. you should not have to bury your kids. I feel for Joe also.

I really do not know--I can not get a sense of what is on his mind. I do know I keep hearing that he has always wanted to be President. Well, the pundits keep pushing that notion. Time will tell.

A close relative of mine lost a 30 year old son to melanoma last year, so our family has been though something like what the Bidens have been through and it is incredibly difficult. The Bidens should be allowed to grieve and heal at their own pace. I wish them all the best.

Please take care.

He has been a wonderful VP for the country and PBO. He's from my neck of the woods (Scranton, PA).

I want him to have a long, happy retirement and get the honors due to him as a good statesman. I do not think he should run again.

I also enjoyed Chris Matthews when he was praising Hillary for her response to the tragedy in Virginia.
The Wall Street Journal reporter did as well.

Oh, and Fineman said ..when Hillary says she will be tough on this issue ( ie guns) he said, she means it.

Biden and Hillary having to battle it out in the last year would chill my good feelings about Obama's last year, I guess. I want the family to stay together. I don't think he'll run, but I'm not sure what this trial balloon was really all about.
