Bernie was an Independent, now a Democrat? Trump was a Democrat now a Republican? @HillaryClinton is the only REAL Democrat in the race!
It does get confusing, doesn't it?

(15,438 posts)Ugh! Sometimes you wonder if they only come into the Hillary Clinton Group to alert. They are seriously into censoring everything and everyone who doesn't conform to their view for the nation. Censorship is NOT a liberal concept. It's a conservative's.

(12,448 posts)This is supposed to be a protected group, but the Sanders supporters get the final say on what gets posted here? With, of course, the aid of the so-called jury system, which is pure garbage.
Vile, disruptive posts in GDP are routinely ignored by the so-called jury system, yet a post that hurts nobody is hidden in a protected group? For shame, jury.

(1,095 posts)Supporters called a-holes, no problem. Basically quoting SBS supporter Sarandon? HIDE.
David Allen needs to clean this place up.

(24,565 posts)this may be a case where an inside joke was not recognized as such by most of the jurors. I was on the jury and voted to hide it. With nothing in the post or elsewhere in the thread (at that time) to reference the Sarandon quote, I took the comment at face value. Although I am a Hillary supporter and read many threads in this group, I didn't recognize Cary as a supporter and assumed it was a snarky and sexist remark by an outsider. I believe the person who alerted on the post made the same assumption because s/he noted that it was in the HRC group, which makes it unlikely that the alerter was a Bernie supporter. Few jurors gave their reasons for voting, but in this case I was probably not alone in trying to "clean up" a protected group.
It is unfortunate with our jury system that the person being alerted doesn't have an opportunity to comment after an alert is sent, but that is where we are now. I think it would be much better to have the hosts decide what is appropriate for groups, and that would eliminate situations like this. We would still have the crappy alerts and hides in the open forums, but at least the groups would indeed be safe havens for people to get away from the vitriol.

(24,565 posts)although I was rarely online the week this was announced due to surgery on my hand. In general I avoid some forums/groups where these were probably circulating, and I rarely read threads that relate to celebrities. The pool of potential jurors doesn't include only those who avidly follow the political threads.
This is not the first time I have been on a jury where someone was nailed after making a sarcastic comment or inside joke that was missed by some of the jurors. We all need to be careful in that regard, myself included because I am very prone to use sarcasm.

(92,191 posts)I have become very cynical here.
When I see threads referring to Hillary with the "c" word, that rightfully got locked, but follow-up threads defending the characterization, even to the point of absurdity. by saying its usage is perfectly acceptable in the UK, therefore it should be allowed here, it raises question of impartiality in my perspective.

(24,565 posts)Another 3 weeks in a cast...one-handed typing is the pits.
I have become cynical also and very weary of another candidate's supporters posting crap and alerting in groups just to stir up bs. We have lost many DUers because of this. After Hillary clinches the nomination I hope it stops; our time and energy need to be spent attacking republicans not each other.

(92,191 posts)Interestingly some of these same folks have been spewing the Susan Sarandon gibberish with impunity without any issues, yet they suddenly they are "offended"
Their actions involving spamming a person or a groups website, because they don't agree with an endorsement probably says more about their maturity level and intolerance than anything else.
It makes one wonder if someone's supporters are a reflection of the candidate they support. That leads one to question that candidate's suitability and temperament to be president
