Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumClinton and the S.F.Factor...POSTED IN THE HILLARY CLINTON GROUP!
A little over a week ago, I knew in both my heart and head that Clinton had a very low chance of winning Iowa due to the huge support of for sanders in the state and that the best that could be hoped for was MAYBE Clinton coming out of the caucus 4 or 5 points behind. I even made this very clear to family and friends and told them that Clinton would do better in future primary states.
Then, Email-Gazi rebooted, being pushed again by both the RW pontiffs The MSM and many BS supporters. Even a cousin of mine in Colorado who is a Sanders supporter posted a link to the story on my Facebook page and said that Clinton was done.
It was then told my sister and my son that Clinton would now be either the Caucus winner or come within a point or so of Sanders in Iowa.
The reason for my optimism? Every time someone comes up with a Benghazi-like charge against Clinton, her polling numbers go up and her popularity increases. I like to call this the S.F. Factor (Sh&T Flinging Factor) Clinton supporters are so tired of this RW tactic that most will double their efforts in her campaign out of respect for her and anger at the lies. I even believe that some voters in other campaigns get so sick of the S.F. that they will even switch their support to Clinton at the last minute because they finally see what is going on. I also believe that this was one of the factors in the Clinton win of Iowa and may swing other primary states in her favor.
I know that there is no proof of this and it is just my opinion, but Clinton won Iowa in a state that should of gone to
Sanders (based on the demographics alone) and this may explain at least some of what happened.
So when the next "Clinton is Toast" story pops up on DU and and in the MSM, be ready for a Clinton boost or win.

(16,104 posts)A year and a half ago I was pretty skeptical about Hillary Clinton.
We really needed a progressive candidate.
And then - pure, unadulterated Hillary Hate.
I reassessed Hillary, and concluded she is actually a progressive liberal Democrat, and I had fallen for the S.F.!
I'm good now, and looking forward to another revolutionary Democratic election of the first female President of the United States!

(2,529 posts)and this seems to be the consensus. Clinton will make a Great P.O.T.U.S. and will actually get things done in the face of adversity. She has already run and is still running the political gauntlet both as a dedicated Democrat and as a woman. This makes her a POWERFUL political force.

(7,833 posts)As a possible explanation for your S.F. factor hypothesis, I believe Mr. Clinton got his highest approval ratings in the middle of the impeachment embarrassment. I had been following the Whitewater "scandal" reports for years by then, and was convinced, with Gene Lyons' help, that the whole thing was created by the media, sustained by the media, and did no one any good, especially the media. But I was sort of a wonk on the subject, and many others were too busy living their lives to figure out what the scandal was about. Until 1998. It was then that the lady I usually rode on the bus with turned and asked me "Are they ever going to let up on the president?", meaning, I think, that lots of people had noticed that the president couldn't do anything right in the eyes of the Times, the Washington Post, the WSJ, or any other legitimate news outlet. My fellow countrymen and women were catching up, if they needed to. My reply to her was, "No, they can't afford to." And so, I think that throughout the 1990's, many, many Americans decided the president was getting a raw deal from the press. They were right.
In 2016, we see that Clinton Derangement Syndrome is alive and thriving. Email, forsooth. And it's dribbling email, too. This "story" broke in the NYTimes in March 2015, was wrong then, is still wrong, but the die-hard anti-Clintonians will lap up every drop of non-information. So, perhaps the S.F. factor is composed of people who have a strong sense of fairness, and recognize yet another Clinton who can do no right in the eyes of the press. And they are finding their way to the caucus locations, and will find their way to voting booths. I salute their principles and persistence.

(67 posts)Yes every time I hear people calling her a liar I just get stronger in my conviction b/c I know how easy it has been to start rumors about her and her husband since the moment they appeared in our lives.
Now I especially hate when the media keep asking her or her supporters about the honesty issues they say she has. Even today when they were interviewing her about her win in Iowa they felt a need to ask her about the liar label. Just infuriating!
I like, respect and admire HRC and believe she is one of the more qualified candidates we've had in a long while. It is exciting and am doubling down in my support of her!!
