My Prediction For NV: HRC By At Least 5 Points

I base this not on any polls or trend, but on the fact that HRC has the best ground game in the state, and has all of the union endorsements (except for Culinary, which stayed neutral).

I base it on the fact that Planned Parenthood has endorsed her and is actively campaigning for her.

I base it on the fact that great Ds like John Lewis are actively campaigning for her.

I base it on the fact that BS doesn't have a good gg in NV and is hoping a huge TV ad buy makes up the difference. It won't.

But most of all, I base my prediction on the fact that I lived in LV for 3 years, and I know just how big a union town it is, and I know from my time there that Dems in NV are all about realistic chances of winning, not about pipe dreams. Especially union members who know all about getting down in the trenches and long-term battles to make their lives better. They're not fooled by usurpers and magical ideas.

You read it here first: Hillary by 5 in NV.

Clinton +0.3 in NV.

Why so gloomy? Crossover Republicans and the reportedly allowed double voting (where you vote in one caucus and then go vote in the other), although I still need confirmation on that.

Hillary by 2 on the high end and Hillary by .5 on the low. I don't see 5 as realistic. This is a Caucus state, it's going to be close.

Union members are always bitching about what their union doesn't do for them, but they realize that their strength as a union and as union members lies in the group taking positions that help the majority in the group.

That's why union endorsements are so important in a union town like LV. The rank-n-file are not going to allow themselves to be splintered, which would negate their collective power. They get that. It's the prime directive. Your union is usually the ONE entity in your life that enhances your power as an individual. Why rock the boat?

Your union leadership is out there fighting to make things better for you, which is why the pipe dream that union members themselves will vote differently than the leadership (which the union members elected, BTW) if the leadership has endorsed a candidate is just that, a pipe dream.

Not gonna happen, especially in a caucus where you know exactly how everyone of your fellow union members is voting.

Because they do the bidding of their money masters. And news and facts have nothing to do with it.

Chalk it up to the very real probability of massive voter fraud on the part of the Republicans.

Our saving grace is the terrain of Nevada. Thanks to Nevada being in the middle of the fucking desert, most of its residents live in municipalities - currently-imprisoned cattle owners notwithstanding. And thanks to the major industry in the state being hospitality, there are a LOT of union members there. There's a reason the GOP loves right-to-work laws...

So! ASSUMING the Republicans are honest and forthright and don't decide to illegally double-vote to hose Hillary one last time, we should get HRC plus 10 to HRC plus 15. I'd like to believe in the Tooth Fairy but I don't, so I expect a slim win for Hillary. We'll still get the state, but it'll be close enough for the Bernouts to dance around claiming victory.

You are 5 hours away from the nearest enclave of civilization.

LV residents get VERY insular about living in LV. You know what a huge topic of discussion is in LV every single day? The weather. That's right. In a place where the sun shines 95% of the year, they talk about the weather. But not only the weather in LV in general, they talk about the "differences" in the weather on a given day between what's happening on The Strip compared to what's happening in Summerlin or NLV. Coming from the east coast, my take on the "differences" in the weather in LV was this:

Hot
Extremely hot
Unbearably hot
Monsoon rains (one week a year)
Snow (3 days a year)

And that's it.

Which is to say, LV residents don't like outsiders. They don't like tourists, but they know where their bread is buttered so they slap that hospitality smile on their faces and let the cauldron simmer inside. They are centered on Vegas, Period.

Can't see them voting for a guy like Bernie who has a piss-poor gg there and who has already done a couple things to piss off the unions.

If they really try, they could tweak results if Dem turnout isnt especially large.

I'm a die-hard Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton patriotic voter. I will never be anything else. So, if (when) all the votes are counted and those from under the table, it will be Clinton wins by 19 percent.. She's going to clean "Beat-Nik Bernie" plow.
