I am in disbelief at the tone deaf response to minorities from Sanders supporters.

(31,237 posts)Ron Paul (if he were running), and would just as easily support Trump if the call-ins to NPR are representative. That disturbs me because these aren't people who are traditionally interested in, or sensitive to the rights of minorities & women.

(12,165 posts)Shouting people down won't win people over to your side. If they listened once in a while and demonstrated some empathy, they could start to bridge some of the demographic gaps among Bernie's supporters.
Instead they would rather blame an abstract establishment or chalk it up to a complex conspiracy. It's easier for them to blame others rather than looking in the mirror and trying to figure out why Sanders isn't able to attract the Obama coalition.

I can say with confidence, though, that this will cost Sanders votes.

(4,640 posts)The racism that's becoming evident from some "fervent" supporters is beyond the pale. I agree with everyone else. If Bernie doesn't tell them STFU on this and the misogyny, he's ALLOWING it.
