(869 posts)she started her career defending children, then education, then national health care, then the victims of 9/11....then as sos she worked extremely hard developing good diplomatic relationships with other nations...there's more obviously her support of girls education in developing countries etc, etc, I think she is definitely rising to the challenge this election...she is really hearing the concerns of voters...she's got tons of representative support if she decides to make a plan for education, healthcare etc, and she is pro-gun control ...with a scotus seat open for a liberal replacement I think we can make headway for gun control and reducing gun violence...she is standing against state violence against citizens....I think she will be a good social justice team with Loretta Lynch and having a housing advocate in the whitehouse (Castro) I think is a great idea with the housing crisis we face across the nation. I am sure there is more...she is a proven hardworker and she lets the beating from her enemies roll off....she's not going to put up with misogyny...wage equality is an issue for voters she is listening...she is listening about bank regulation as well... Cheers, Maggie

(31,170 posts)there are many specifically just women related. I'm out for the evening, but most of what I would tell you can also be found here at On The Issues

Also adding a link to The Hillary Doctrine link at Wiki....not sure it explains it in depth, but it's what I have handy.... which deals with the issues she still talks about now, in terms of the fact that the relative stability of a country has a direct correlation to its treatment of women, and placing those issues firmly in our foreign policy endeavors.

(32,623 posts)rape as a weapon of war. That was a new direction for the US. Here's an interview with her but I've seen others relate how it impacted them individually-

Of course, the China speech was recognized globally as a benchmark for women.
And currently, of course, she is teaching us all what the public face of a powerful woman looks like. No small potatoes, that. This is the most recent piece I've seen on the subject-
